Has your flu jab yet?

I had mine (NHS worker)on Thursday. I usually get quite an achey arm and sometimes tender lymph nodes in neck / armpit, but absolutely nothing this year. The actual injection was painless (not even the threatened 'sharp scratch').
I'm unsure whether to be delighted or concerned that my body hasn't mounted any sort of response.
Anyone else been vaccinated yet and how did you feel?

Had my Covid booster (I work with vulnerable people) five days ago and still have a very swollen arm which is bordering on cellulitis. Fortunately I have a dermatology appointment later today (skin cancer check) so will run it past the doctor there. My main question is whether it's still okay to have the first stage of a shingles vaccine this afternoon (I booked it prior to the Covid jab) or whether I need to wait for my sore arm (obviously I'd use the other one!) to calm down.

My flu jab is booked for next week and on Friday I had a mammogram, so it's all a medical roundabout here at the moment!

I am older than most here - grandma to 7.

My plea is for people to have the flu jab - and covid if they qualify. I have a longstanding heart condition which makes me very vulnerable to complications if I get infected. You will be helping me and many others (including vulnerable infants and children) by getting vaccinated and adding to the herd immunity.

Not had it yet, but I have never had anything other than a slightly stiff arm afterwards.

The shingles jab, now that was quite bad...

Oh joy! Roll on this afternoon!

MiddleAgedDread · 06/10/2026 11:23

had mine at weekend and have felt absolutely fine. My arm was tender but not half as sore as it's been in past years (I slept on it fine the first night).

MyCatLovesMeSometimes · 06/10/2026 11:52

@TonTonMacoutei have shingles booked in next week! Something else to look forward to!

afaloren · 06/10/2026 14:42

Had mine this morning and I’ve got a sore arm already! It didn’t hurt at the time though.

AllaMova · 06/10/2026 17:11

Yes, I had mine earlier on. I was in and out in less than two minutes. It feels slightly sore if I raise my arm, but I’m feeling very cold!

I get it every year through my surgery and won’t dare miss it.

BashfulClam · 06/10/2026 17:15

Had mine is Saturday. Arm hurts at the injection site if I move it a certain way and I am exhausted for some reason. I pay for a private one as my mother is very vulnerable and has dementia so needs us to be well enough to care for her.

Mimilamore · 06/10/2026 18:21

Had mine today, wouldn’t know where I had it!! Maybe sore arm tomorrow but SFSG…

NewGrandmummy · 06/10/2026 18:51

Well I can definitely say that having a shingles jab hurts! (And I don’t mind injections at all. It just felt as though the actual fluid being injected was really thick.)

AgnesMcDoo · 06/10/2026 18:52

My appointment isn’t until December.

thebeautifulsky · 07/10/2026 11:18

Had my flu jab this morning. Didn't feel injection at all. Arm now sore and I'm feeling a bit tired and have a slight headache but ok. Going out for a walk now to see if that wakes me up a bit!

WiseMoose · 07/10/2026 11:20

I had my flu jab at the weekend and my arm is still sore now

no other after effects though

blackheartsgirl · 07/10/2026 11:21

Had mine last Fri, slightly sore arm and felt a bit sick in the early hours of sat morning but apart from that nothing.

SerendipityCat · 07/10/2026 11:33

Had mine yesterday. Sore arm today and feel a touch achey and flu-ey, but nothing to worry about.

Nlsa · 07/10/2026 11:35

Me and my 2 kids (students) had it with no effects. In contrast when they had the man B booster, they had splitting headache and had to go to bed.

LimeFish · 07/10/2026 22:53

Sore arm straight away and lasted about a day, otherwise fine.
