Has your flu jab yet?

I had mine (NHS worker)on Thursday. I usually get quite an achey arm and sometimes tender lymph nodes in neck / armpit, but absolutely nothing this year. The actual injection was painless (not even the threatened 'sharp scratch').
I'm unsure whether to be delighted or concerned that my body hasn't mounted any sort of response.
Anyone else been vaccinated yet and how did you feel?

had mine on Thursday, no sore arm and didn't actually feel it at the time at all. I am absolutely floored with flu-y symptoms from Friday but I think it's just coincidental rather than side effects from the jab.

deplorabelle · 05/10/2026 19:53

Had mine on Saturday. Absolutely no soreness in the arm but I ache and am tired and feel generally crap, which is so unusual - the covid jab wiped me out but flu doesn't normally. I'm not sure if it's the vaccine or if I've got a lurgey. Or maybe I've just aged thirty years overnight 😱

No, only had flu jab once.
Never again!

Same
I never had so bad flu like it was after the jab

Next week, only because I go away this weekend. Lots of colleagues had it today and reported a sore arm!

mindutopia · 05/10/2026 20:12

Yes, had it done on Friday. Same as every year, bit of a sore arm, nothing more than that.

dreamsinreality · 05/10/2026 20:41

Had mine on Thursday. Only realised my arm was sore when I rolled over in bed. Thankfully no other issues.

ILoveKits · 05/10/2026 20:45

I had mine on Friday morning. By teatime I had a mild headache and felt under the weather with a slightly sore arm, but, I got the over 65 version :(

DozyCrow · 05/10/2026 20:55

Had mine on Saturday. No after effects aside from a slight tenderness at the injection site for a very short while. I'm lucky that I've never had a bad reaction, or any reaction really, to the jab.

MyCatLovesMeSometimes · 05/10/2026 21:01

I had mine today very sore arm but feel OK - I always get a very sore arm with flu vaccine though! Had covid in the other arm but that didn't hurt at all. DPIL however reported that they were wiped out by flu vaccine for 24 hours.

AcquadiP · 05/10/2026 21:01

I had mine on Saturday. The injection site is slightly sore and today I had a runny nose for a while but that's stopped now.

Chatterlyssecret · 05/10/2026 21:04

I had both in left arm on Monday no problems at all.

placemats · 05/10/2026 21:05

Yes. Saturday and top of arm was a bit sore. All is well now. It was an incredibly slick operation at the GP practice. In and out in less than five minutes.

If you are eligible for the jab, please do get it.

Poshjock · 05/10/2026 21:07

Had mine last Thursday. Usual achy arm for a couple of days and no other symptoms. All very normal response for me to Flu vax

Mischance · 05/10/2026 21:10

Had flu and covid (heart problems) on Saturday. Two sore arms and painful joints last night but it's easing now.

Growlybear83 · 05/10/2026 21:12

I had mine on Thursday and have just had a slightly tender arm. I'm having my Covid jab later this week, and usually react a bit more to that.

Tel12 · 05/10/2026 21:14

Nope. Don't think that I'm going to

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/10/2026 21:19

Diabetics in remission here and both jabbed Saturday, slightly warm spot on my arm from the jab for me and nothing for DH. I’ve never had a reaction to the flu jabs or Covid jab. However I did get Covid right at the start and was very poorly now living with a Heart Condition they are linking to it. But heyho it is what it is, I’m all for jabs herd immunity and all that.

BasilParsley · 05/10/2026 21:31

Had the flu one after lunch on Saturday. Nurse was very adept doing the injection. No sore arm like I've had before.
Was a bit off colour over Saturday night and during Sunday - had a headache suddenly appear and then just as suddenly disappear again a couple of minutes later several times.
Gums and teeth winged a bit for a couple of hours Sunday and I was quite tired all day. But I'm fine again today.

RoxieLoxy · 05/10/2026 21:47

Had mine yesterday. It did sting when I had it and had a slightly sore arm but no other side effects. I haven’t ever had side effects though apart from last year when I could hardly lift my arm fairly soon after I had it.

My DDs had theirs and one had no side effects the other a mild headache.

RoxieLoxy · 05/10/2026 21:48

Weirdly I went in with a bad headache that I’d had all morning and after having the jab I realised that the headache had completely disappeared 🤣

bababamama · 05/10/2026 21:49

Mine isn’t until November, first available appointment

Yes I had mine Saturday and had exactly the same in that normally I feel pretty rough after (only with flu jab) but felt fine a mildly achy arm barely but nothing else! The nurse did say it is the same this year when asking had I had it before, so maybe that’s to do with it?!

Fallstar · 05/10/2026 21:52

I had mine on Saturday. I don't normally have a reaction at all but this time I've had a sore arm and I especially noticed it when I was trying to sleep on Saturday night. It's fine now, so it didn't last long.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 06/10/2026 07:18

Had mine about 10 days ago. Bit tired the next day, that’s all.

Tillow4ever · 06/10/2026 08:14

Had mine on Saturday. Slightly sore arm when I lay on it - but I discovered a few years ago that if I keep moving my arm that had the jab it doesn’t get sore like it used to when I would “guard” it so to speak.

Saturday night I felt a bit nauseous and had no appetite for dinner - but don’t know if that was a side effect or just run down as hadn’t had much sleep on Friday night (around 3 hours) and had a busy day so didn’t get chance to eat or drink really all day.
