Pilot stabs co pilot in mid air attack disaster narrowly avoided

Just seen this on the news. Life is becoming terrifying these days. Pilot was stabbed by the co pilot. Said a very serious disaster avoided. Something to do with hi jacking. Or plan to kill all the passengers. Horrific.

I would only ever travel ElAl to Israel. I am never happier than being grilled by their security.

I don't know if its still the case but they used to have their own airport security scanners, all handled separately from the standard airport procedures.

Article in the NYT about the Indian pilot Smit Machchhar who managed to release cockpit door and allow crew and passengers to overpower the co-pilot despite being stabbed multiple times.
Despite the calls to avoid speculating I don’t think it will be a massive surprise why a Middle Eastern national tried to murder hundreds of people on their way to the country that one religion wants to obliterate.

I think this has been one very confusing news story . Some say pilot was the victim , some say co-pilot others just say generic pilot , then there were other pilots on board who flew / landed the plane . I really don’t know but whatever the situation it sounds frightening.

The details coming out are so scary. Just hearing reports on the radio, can’t see it in an article yet.
