Handhold please in a&e

My 3rd trip in 2 weeks. Started off with a uti 4 weeks ago. Couldn't shift it, became so unwell ended up in a&e also have right sided lower and upper abdomen pain. Had a CT scan last week to rule out appendicitis, was admitted for this as they said my bloods had infection markers. Couldn't access appendix on the ct scan, could see 2 large ovarian cysts, discharged home with my 3rd set of antibiotics as still showing as having a uti. Sat at home all week, pain in right side coming and going. No temperature or night sweats as had previously, thought maybe Uti was clearing but constant right side pain, referred to Gynae and thought this must be the pain, just endure until seen by Gynae! Dropped in urine sample to GP this morning to see if uti cleared, got called to come into see gp as uti still present, also blood, and bilburin. Gp examined me, still concerned that it is appendicitis/gallstones/kidney stones or something to do with the liver. So here I am, its packed. Going to be a long night. Feeling really panicky that something is really terribly wrong with me. Just want some company really and any good news stories

Hand hold here. I'm in hospital as well with my little one. Youre in the right place but it's worrying. Would you like things to take your mind off it or just a place to vent through the night?

Oh OP sorry to hear this and hope you get seen to soon. I had a ruptured appendix three years ago and spent 5 days in hospital.

Do you have anyone that can come and wait with you?

Everything passes, you just need to go through it in order to get to the other side. Try to look at it as time passing by and you are just moving along with it no matter what is thrown at you.

I had something similar a couple years back. They didnt know what was wrong. I am an endo sufferer though so tend to blame a flare up. Have you been checked for that? Or any bowel issues also

A few years ago my husband had similar. I know his piping is different to us woman. They were convinced it was kidney stones. He kept getting utis with sweats etc.
Was scanned found nothing.
Was given weeks of strong antibiotics followed by another few months of one antibiotic each evening. Been right as rain since.
They think the infections were never clearing so needed weapon strength antibiotics to clear it up.

I had similar with a double kidney infection and that start of sepsis. I needed iv. Antibiotics and morphine. And a rest x good luck tonight xx

i I had a burst appendix about 6 months ago, GP called it blood test showed nasty infection and CT scan got it straight away.

I must admit as soon as she tapped and released I yelped in pain. They gave me morphine to dull the pain

You are in the best place OP. Did you get chance to throw some useful stuff in a bag? Phone charger, comfy clothes, fluffy socks? If not see if anyone can bring them in? If they've given you painkillers good, but if not see if you can get IV paracetamol. It's very effective, not like just taking tablets, and they'll give that more readily than some other things.

Have a look at Niall Harbison on social media. He rescues street dogs in Thailand. Some fabulous stories of getting dogs through terrible injuries and conditions.

My daughter gets regular kidney infections and has periods of back and forth to A and E so I really feel for you. I hope you get seen and if kept in for any time, get at least a chair you can sleep in.

When I was at uni it took months for them to diagnose my grumbling appendix, I had all the tests and eventually they decided it had to be that even though they couldn’t see my appendix on a scan, took it out and I finally felt better.

Wishing you as okay a night as possible given the circumstances and hope you and @Pulledbluecurtain can keep each other company as needed.

A bit random but are you nearing/menopausal, lack of estrogen can contribute to recurring UTI's

Thank you so much for the comforting words, stories and gorgeous fat furry bear stories😍 ive had bloods taken, been examined by a dr (who does not think its appendicitis and im gutted I want it to be this, I want them to take it out I really think ill feel better if it comes out) she thinks its an embedded uti. But i haven't had a scan, and no blood results back yet. They are now going to give me pain relief via IV which I can't wait to have, last week I felt so much better when I got it through the drip. I just feel very deflated. @Pulledbluecurtaini really hope your little one is ok. Its crap seeing them sick in hospital. I hope you can get some rest too ❤️. Im usually in my bed at 10pm, cant stay awake after that. Well tonight I am wide awake and totally alert! They've asked me so many questions about pain that I dont actually know anymore where the bloody pain is! And now ive also started bleeding. Haven't bled in a year, have the Mirena in! What the hell!

I can literally feel all your support 🥹 dh packed a bag for me, I had refused to go so he very rightly packed a bag with the practicals and a book! And made me get into the car and drove me here. Ive messaged him a few times just saying im all ready now to go home and he knows only too well when im bullshitting 😆

Absolutely. My own thinking is this is definitely a contributor to this. Need to have a talk to my gp about getting on whatever the hell i need to get on!!

Finally being admitted to gynae ward to have scan in the morning will hopefully have better idea what is going on

I hope you can get some sleep. Although I suspect not as most wards are a hot bed of activity at night. For now you have pain relief and a warm blanket; fingers crossed for answers tomorrow.

Morning, I did actually sleep, up until about 6, and then fell back to sleep until a little while ago. Really hope I get an answer today, the not knowing and speculation in my head is leaving me exhausted along with the pain. So yep,.Just need to be strong today and get this sorted.

Drip was brilliant probably helped me sleep would like another one this morning 😆
