Just struggling through my first dose of Plenvu. Always had Picolax before, this is just 😵‍💫🫩

You would off thought they would of invented a pill or something by now wouldn't you

Some places use pillcam or liquid biopsies (not considered gold standard, but for those who don't want a colonoscopy, they are options). There are virtual CT scans, which still needs prep, but some people prefer, but if anything is found, a traditional one would need scheduled.

I've used both in the last month and found them equally ick. I found the final plenvu the worst but all 'lemon' flavoured drink is ruined for me now since I associate the smell/taste with bowel prep. And, indeed, the prep is the worst part.

Bon courage!

My last one was over a year ago I've not been able to have anything mango flavour since 🤢

The funny thing is how many people have done it when it’s mentioned and it’s like bonding over how yuk it tastes.

Yeah it’s a very specific experience isn’t it? 😖

Does anyone know if it’s ok to prepare dose 2 the night before? I’m supposed to take it at 5am but I want to give it time to chill (not that I think I’ll be keeping it down at 5am)

I have mango flavour and I can confirm that dose 2 is extra sweet and extra salty. Like a demonic mixed popcorn.

@GreenShady my packet says it can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours so I think you would be ok to make it up tonight.

Hope it went well OP 💐

Sympathy @GreenShady

DH has been through this every year for the last five yours. I feel your pain.

Who knew that that trick he learned at uni of pouring a pint down this throat without it touching the sides would come in so useful later in life

Thanks all!

In the end I got up at 5 and mixed it then but with very cold water.
I could only manage about half but luckily the result was good enough!

Jeepers the TASTE of that second dose - ugh!! It lingered on the palate too 🤢

On the positive side, Plenvu didn’t cause any horrible stomach cramps like Picolax - stuff just emerges regularly 🤣

@FinallyHere I wish I could neck liquids like that 😭

@donniemurdo a demon definitely had a hand (or hoof?) in creating that vile flavour!

Anyway I survived, all went well, everyone at the hospital was completely lovely, when I was waking up they brought me tea and two little packets of biscuits (and two cups of water) and it was all a huge relief!!

Got home and slept for about 5 hours 😴

That’s it for hopefully 5 more years now 😊

Thanks for keeping me company!
