I reckon with suitable training and instruction I could be one of those people that guide the crowds with the big foam hands.

Did you see the clip of the Belgium shot putter who stepped in at the last minute to help her team with the hurdles.

Basically her 2 team mates had to pull out of their event (the hurdles) due to sickness and if the event wasn't completed the whole team would be disqualified from the whole competition. She didn't have to beat a time just finish the race and so she gave it a go and succeeded.
