Is TUI in-flight food decent enough for a short afternoon flight?

Flying with tui next week and the app states we can order food for the plane toastie/ sandwich ,Popcorn chicken chips etc

What's the food like ? Not expecting 5* but is it OK. We have a 1.45 flight and think it may be easier and less hassle to just order something?

Averages £10 per head so didn't think it was too bad?

I just made us all sandwiches to eat on board. It was a good way to use up what was in the fridge. I know Tui might be different but the past 3 times we've tried to get a margarita pizza with Easyjet they'd sold out

My DS used to get very excited about the Tui inflight meal when he was little, though the selection seems more of a packaged snack than the little meals they used to do on those trays with compartments.

I really miss those in flight meals! Some of them were really good

I usually bring something on board, but if anything appeals on the plane menu I'll have it! If not, I'll munch what I brought myself and get a tea or coffee on board. Remember if you don't eat what you brought from home or at the airport you may have to ditch it, as there are rules on what food you can bring in to certain countries.

Sometimes the food is great on board, other times not. Hit and miss.

If I had a good breakfast at home, and there's a Boots at the airport, I'd get a meal deal each to eat on the flight. Not WH Smith though, because they're more expensive and not as nice.

Or if there's something I wanted to eat (and pay for) at the airport I'd try to build in time for a decent meal (eg we often have Giraffe at Manchester T2).

But if I'm faced with paying £10-15 Pret type food or Burger King, or even more for 'pub grub' then I'd be taking food from home.

From what I've seen of the food other people on flights have bought, I'd not want to eat any of it. Plus quite often it can be ages before it's served and your first choice may have run out.
