Just that really. I know he is unlikely to win but I would love it if it was really close! Come on Clacton!

He didn’t want to be photographed having to stand near a bin and all the other looney party people and candidates.

Which is why he didn’t attend the declaration.

Coward. Corrupt coward.

CitizenZ · 14/08/2026 07:00

Yikes... The people of Clacton have proved themselves to be utterly foolish!

Coward. Corrupt coward.

I trust you mean Farage and not me!

I guess it’s time for Mr Binface to get back in his bin, and back to writing scripts for the BBC 😉

22,000 plus loose screws, more than voted for him in 2024. And his vote share went up.

Only solace is the investigation will pick up again.

I assume the vote share increase is simply because no other major parties were standing?

And Count Binface got a quarter of the votes. That is extraordinary.

Farage offered to pay, knowing this is illegal

An empty gesture, then. What an extraordinarily loathsome person he is. I can't remember another politician in recent history I've disliked as much. I hope they waste no time with this investigation and give the voters of Clacton grounds for a recall petition, which would waste even more money but as I understand it Farage would be unable to stand. Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part.

Compare and contrast Andy Burnham, although of course the circumstances were completely different.

Come on Binface!

And Farage can go back to getting dodgy millions from.overseas crypto currency billionaires...

Evining · 14/08/2026 07:59

Almost 10K votes for Binface! Almost a third of the voters of Clacton at least agree that Nigel is a waste of space. A small positive at least.
Binface got his deposit back for the first time!

A phrase I used in a previous post. I am flattered.

And I agree with the sentiment! As you say not quite the same . Andy Burnham was not expected to stand next to a man with a bin on his head. Along with all the others.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/08/2026 08:16

I can't stand self-importance and I suspect Farage has no sense of humour, or at any rate can't stand being made fun of. Not an endearing quality.

AvogadrosNumber · 14/08/2026 10:23

It's a total own goal for Farage & his party. Wasted tax payer money. Insulted his constituents (again). 'Won' in a joke election with only 1,015 more people voting for him than did in the general election for the seat in 2024, when he was up against serious opponents. The parliamentary investigation starts up again. It was always going to be lose/lose for him, if he lost his seat to a bin, well he lost his seat to a bin. If he won, he won a one horse race and all he's done is delay the inevitable questions and probing into his affairs.

Can I ask why? Is it only because it would mean Nigel won’t get in?

I’d really rather anyone but Nigel, but I also don’t think politics is supposed to be a joke. There are real lives at the end of this performance, ones that need real social issues to be addressed and their areas need to be led with positive action. I don’t believe that the below manifesto reflects that.

To be fair, most of these are more realistic and less harmful than Brexit.

I just see Binface as a puerile, attention seeking munter. Plain silly and a bit naff tbh. What an idiot!

Perhaps he could do us all a favour. And lay himself to rest. At the bottom ,of a very deep, toxic landfill site.

Have you watched any interviews with him? He's very funny, quick witted and politically knowledgeable. I watched the Rest is Politics with him on and cackled for the first five minutes straight.

The attention seeking is kind of the whole point, isn't it. We have a fine tradition of political subversion and humour in this country, and long may it continue (especially while Farage is around to be made fun of, as clearly his huge ego can't take it 😂).
