Suddenly on my "most played list" on my Spotify, there's a few Romanian bangers.

That’s a bit working class, isn’t it? 😜

Wherethedogsits · 11/08/2026 13:19

We don’t have Alexa so I wouldn’t know that it does this. Does she know?

MajorProcrastination · 11/08/2026 13:21

Je Téléphone á la Police

nongnangning · 11/08/2026 13:25

Thank you for bringing Inna to my attention 😀Just having a look on YouTube
OP, I don't really understand how Alexa's work but I know my DC won't share Spotify with me for the same reason, in case they get my music polluting their obviously superior music. Can you give the cleaner her own account, is that feasible or is there a cost?

Xkk · 11/08/2026 13:27

Romanian here, Inna's song are mostly English and Spanish. She is international and she has lots of good songs, has duets with Pit Bull, Sean Paul and other very famous singers. If is not your cup of tea fair enough but she does not sing Romanian bangers, far from it.

tomato22 · 11/08/2026 13:34

Inna was in the UK charts circa 2010s, I still listen to some of her stuff... always remind me of summertime.

Nice, was "Made in Romania" on the list? 😎.

thornbury · 11/08/2026 13:57

We use agency cleaners so don't always get the same one. Sometimes they weigh themselves on my Bluetooth bathroom scales and I see a random weigh in when I open the app!

Jk987 · 11/08/2026 13:57

She can’t listen to music while doing very mundane jobs for you for minimal pay? Is she allowed a glass of water from your kitchen?

Wonkybaby · 11/08/2026 18:10

I am realising that I am not getting enough out of my Alexa. All I ever do is ask her to play Radio 2 or what the weather forecast is.
How do I make a playlist? Does it connect to Apple Music? —I miss iTunes

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/08/2026 18:31

How dare she? Obviously you need to call the police PDQ and have her locked up! Has she been breathing your personal oxygen, too?

TheChancesAreWeveGoneTooFar · 11/08/2026 18:41

Better than the shit rappers my kids put on mine.

Ponderingwindow · 11/08/2026 18:44

This is the first time in my life I have actually thought that someone is pearl clutching.

Alexa is no different than the electricity or the plumbing. If you choose to have one, it is available for communal use.

Holymolymoon · 11/08/2026 18:48

Could you be any more of a snob?

BitterTits · 11/08/2026 18:53

I get that this thread has become a bit tongue in cheek, but I do wonder why you'd bother to start it if you didn't think your cleaner using your Alexa was objectionable in some way.

Waitadamnminute · 11/08/2026 19:06

I would actually be quite peeved. My son had been playing all types of football songs on ours during the World Cup and now I'm getting them when I try play my stuff!

My sister is a cleaner and likes to add comedy items to other people's shopping lists! They love it!

I’d guess a lot of them actually find that really annoying but like her work as a cleaner and have decided to put up with it.

iCod · 12/08/2026 07:03

@Wonkybabyyeah! Connect it through the app

Inna is Romanian EDM. She seems to have forgotten her vest

She's going to get a dreadful chill on her kidneys.

Lexibletheflexible · 12/08/2026 07:17

Really thought this would be one of my clients this time. I know i mess with their algorithms

This is a very niche connection indeed, but this makes me think of the first series of Bullseye (before Tony Green came on the scene), on Bully's prize board. The red segments had the (for the time) good prizes behind them and hitting the bigger green segments meant you hadn't won anything... BUT Jim insisted on making up stupid 'jokey' prizes that they had won, like a sock with a hole in it, half of a three-week old onion etc. It was so painfully unfunny, and nobody even in the studio audience ever laughed.

You can use Apple Music, prime music…whatever you use. Mine, I mostly use her to connect to my Spotify and then connect her to a good Bluetooth speaker.

eta: yes! I miss iTunes too! I came across an old iPod classic, last updated via iTunes around 15yrs ago (last time I used iTunes, and have never used Apple Music), and omg the music I’ve got on it is still amazing 😆 and thousands and thousands of old photos I’d forgotten about. Really took me back, having a look through it! I need to find a way to be able to play it now! I think my entire music collection, at the time (CDs) was uploaded to it, plus everything I’d ever downloaded. Blimey, you’ve got ma all nostalgic now 😄

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 12/08/2026 12:34

My dc once stuck Crazy Frog and a couple of other 2000s annoyances on dh's Spotify playlist(yes carefully ,and not at all sad bastard with too much time on his hands, curated). It buggered it up for ages. They thought it hilarious. (So did I. Made a change from prog, reggae and free jazz)
