Suddenly on my "most played list" on my Spotify, there's a few Romanian bangers.

Cyclebabble · 11/08/2026 12:35

Yeah she asked Alexa to play some music whilst she was working. It might be very very very mildly annoying if it came up on your most played, but not really.

iCod · 11/08/2026 12:36

it is corrupting my carefully curated favourites and therefore Romanian sexy ladies will now appear on my Spotify Wrapped at Christmas, rather than Ryan and Sharpay #boptothetop

MORE than that, I now can work out why it switched as I was in the car

I haven't heard Romanian music, is it good?

Inna is Romanian EDM. She seems to have forgotten her vest

INNA is bloody amazing. Everyone probably knows her music, even if they don't realise it's her.

'Hot' is one of the songs I listen to when I go swimming. It's got a perfect beat for crawl.

Tbh you should give her a pay rise for having good taste. Oldie but a goodie.

iCod · 11/08/2026 12:42

Its not my cup of tea, My cleaner however IS

Good job shes clearly had a wax for that pic.

landmarkyear · 11/08/2026 12:48

I don’t see the issue. It’s not costing you anything extra. Everyone has different music taste

shrunkenhead · 11/08/2026 12:48

My sister is a cleaner and likes to add comedy items to other people's shopping lists! They love it!

DressOrSkirt · 11/08/2026 12:52

If she has her own Spotify account then you could add her to your Alexa family (I assume it has that feature, we have Google home) so when she asks it to play music it will play from her account.

MoonWoman69 · 11/08/2026 12:52

I need a Mongolian cleaner! Could some of their throat singing tunes be classed as "bangers"?! 🤣🤣🤣

Mumteedum · 11/08/2026 12:55

@MoonWoman69 I'm a lecturer...I believe Mongolian throat singing is quite popular 😆 was it the howl and the hum that featured it?

Curated? Is your playlist a museum?

I’m very protective over my media algorithms and so on my Google Home I’ve set the default music to YouTube, so unless anyone specifically asks it won’t access my Apple Music profile. I just ask to play on Apple Music but the cleaner and guests get YouTube music which then doesn’t impact me!

I believe people under 40 curate everything now and share it. Playlists, earrings, shopping, coffee beans.. Usually consisting of 'iconic' things which you can narrate on an insta reel while holding a tiny fluffy mic. Grin

I am over fifty and find it all tiresome but I will let @iCod off for curating things as I like the cut of her gib !

SirChenjins · 11/08/2026 13:07

Are the real Cod - or descended from her? Your spelling has improved tremendously if the former.

Oh, for the days when the wireless dial would just be turned back to the right station. Curated indeed - pffft..

Unfortunately this is very likely! I’ve had my wrapped turn up some wtf is that songs on occasion! Usually due to dc visiting and listening to something a couple of times, several months earlier 😄
Luckily I do have my own tried and tested playlists and hate Spotify suggestions so never have that option on, so can still listen to what I want…until it comes to my end of year wrapped playlist! Tbf, it’s almost the same every year anyway, with the odd new song getting a look in, as I’ll end up listening to the wrapped playlist enough times that it’s kinda like a music inception 😆

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 11/08/2026 13:08

I got huge kudos from my cleaners because I was already listening to Bulgarian music.

I like following the oddities of the algorithm. I was listening to my favourite Ukrainian band on YT, and they have cross-referenced that with my son's love of tractors. Which means now I get videos about Ukrainian tractors.

AutisticMumOf2 · 11/08/2026 13:09

😂 As long as it has a good beat, it's all good.

Well, the world hasn’t half changed in my time. Mind you, it’s been a while since I was under 40.

JacknDiane · 11/08/2026 13:13

You got a cleaner cod?

Get you

Tryagain26 · 11/08/2026 13:14

Years ago - and I mean it must be 10ish years - before dc moved out, and we’d just got Alexas, we would just do silly things like sending different songs to the ones in their room, or silly announcements etc, whilst it was new and a novelty. Then when they’d moved out our respective devices were all still linked and would show up on each others lists in the apps, and sometimes, due to perhaps overlapping names/rooms we’d accidentally send, or suddenly receive completely random songs. It would be totally silent and then all of a sudden a song would start playing, or lights/plugs would be turned on and off. Alarms would go off. We had to make sure we didn’t have duplicate names for our devices then!
