Has anyone else been following the lindsay clancy trial? What is everyone thinkin? I dont think she done it

Just copied this from a news article for those of you who seem to think LC’s criminal case is to decide IF she committed the murders, maybe those who are parroting TikTok video conspiracies about DNA on bands should also look closer at the facts

When Lindsay Clancy’s trial begins, one fact will not be in dispute — she killed her three children.

In his opening statement to jurors, defense lawyer Kevin Reddington will almost certainly admit that the 35-year-old mother of three used exercise bands to strangle 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan in the basement of the family’s Duxbury home in January 2023. That’s because Clancy is pursuing what Massachusetts calls a “lack of criminal responsibility” defense — more commonly known as an “insanity” defense.

He did indeed admit it in his opening statement.

It's true this trial isnt about wether she killed the children,that seems to have been accepted ,rather wether responsibility for the crimes is affected by her mental illness.
There does seem evidence that she is mentally ill and that she was heavily medicated and poorly supervised medically.
Having said that i haven't seen any evidence that she did kill the children other than her saying she did and her husband said she said she did. Is the confession of a severely mentally ill woman reliable?

I don't understand this reasoning.

The jury are definitely able to come to the conclusion of not guilty on all counts.

The pp said the verdict was based on whether LC killed her children or not. It isn’t a ‘whodunnit’

If a mother left her 3 children alone with a father who was in such poor mental health for ski trips and brunches like PC did then the end result was the father strangled the children there is no doubt in my mind a mother would be on trial for death by negligence or whatever the correct wording would be.

I would t be surprised if he did set her up. But to me it looks like he was a horrible husband not just neglectful but likely coercive controlling.

he knew she wanted to die. Was anxious and worried the kids would be hurt. He still left her alone while he went to brunch with friends and skiing.

she was out training days after giving birth. That could have been maia. It could have been a woman trying to be back in shape for her husband. Her diary was full of struggles but she’s kept saying she wanted to be a better wife and at one point to have another child for him?! What the actual fuck? Is that believable that it’s her wish to have another child while she felt like that or was was that her husband’s expectation. Considering those 3 children are so close in age and he’s already remarried and procreating.

I had an abusive ex once. He had me believing I was the problem. Even had me contacting service Ld for help worried for my baby. They were concerned for my baby. Recorded that they didn’t have to remove baby as husband a protective factor. That but me in the arse sooo bad. Because he did hurt the baby and I left. As soon as I left I realised he was the cause of all my mental health issues. This trial is so triggering because I can see my ex and my situation in so much of it

Me too. I have heard, sadly, that all of us who have been with a narcissistic/abusive ex can see this more clearly. I mean women never back a woman who has allegedly murdered her kids normally do we? But something just isnt right here.

I think this is very true.

Something that also stands out to me is that she was persistently undermined as a mother in terms of the whole sleep training Callan thing. Early on in the trial there were various diary entries read out (when the baby would only have been around 4-5 months ish) where she is saying everyone is telling her it’s fine to leave C to cry it out but she finds it hard because it goes against everything she feels etc. Entries about him “crying for hours” etc - who was telling her this was okay? Patrick? If she felt it was wrong why didn’t she feel able to just go and pick him up? Most babies don’t sleep through the night until well beyond that time frame, the constant waking was absolutely normal. Who was telling her it wasn’t?

And then you have her saying she can’t sleep and taking medication that would (should) effectively knock her out for 8-9 hours (I know that it didn’t, but that was the aim). Who was going to be seeing to the children in the night? Especially given that PC was away with “work” quite a bit.

There Is something deeply wrong with all of it.

No one is treating this case as a "whodunit", what a horrible thing to say.

What is abundantly clear is that there are posters triggered by the case and giving empathy based on their own experiences. They are heartfelt and I feel compassionate towards them.

They are perfectly entitled to do that because they're not on the jury.

I'm still going to post on this thread and I most certainly will not be going away.

I think this case is a shining example of what poor medical care and overuse of prescription medication can do. Creating the perfect storm for Lindsay Clancy. She's just as much a victim in many ways but the reality is that the right care and correct prescribing of meds may very well have prevented this tragedy. She should never have been under the care of a nurse.

The pure unmitigated horror and suffering these children were subjected to by the mother they no doubt adored is incomprehensible. But I agree with somebody who thought she would be found not guilty. Absolutely breaks my heart that these children won't get the justice they deserve.

Is anyone watching the trial live now? Cyber expert showing LC was searching methods of killing herself and details of other suicides where people had jumped from height the day before it happened.

KR is now saying it was PC logged in, doing those searches. I don’t know what to make of all this.

Court TV is the best one but any of the live streams will be fine, they’re all the same.
