A nice soft drink without artificial sweetener? Look no further ...

So excited! In a world where almost every soft drink you can buy is poisoned with artificial sweeteners, I've found a really nice one which isn't and just had to share.

Get yourself down to M&S and buy their lemonade in a 1 litre bottle. It is labelled "no artificial sweeteners". It is also not toooooo sweet - absolutely perfect and makes a nice change for me from original coca cola and Rocks cordials.

Recommend Fix8 brand 👌 Their Kombucha is lush too

Juat had a look, but it has stevia in. Can't stand sweetners. I have been buying tibico, not quite graduated to making my own. Maybe one day!

ChocolateCinderToffee · 09/08/2026 22:23

Roses lime cordial with fizzy water. Been drinking it forever.

ReallyIsThisStillGoingOn · 09/08/2026 22:29

Appletise doesn’t have artificial sweeteners either.

Ahh does it? Gutted! Their Kombucha doesn't, I started with that and just assumed the kefir water wouldn't either more the fool me, apologies!

@Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride they still do the orange hi juice squash without sweeteners, just the rest they have ruined🤬
Rocks squashes are just sweetened with sugar, Roses lime cordial and pelligrino classic drinks if want fizzy. I can't stand any artificial sweeteners even the ones they label as natural like stevia & sucralose are disgusting and don't agree with me😖

Edited

The orange hi juice has sucralose in now which has caused me to be hospitalised twice so I avoid totally

I do stock up on their lemonade every month - I run it through the ninja slushie with some fresh fruit juice and any leftover freeze using lolly moulds

BotoxOrPuffins · 10/08/2026 00:45

Thanks for all these recommendations!

Something & Nothing so delicious natural flavoured soda water. No sweetener either.

Sweeteners are disgusting, so many brands have been ruined with them. M&S have some nice canned drinks called something like ‘juicee’ as well.

Yes, I like those fizzy juice cans too!

7-UP was my fave, it’s ruined now.
And San Pellegrino. Will try that lemonade.

Yes, you have to watch out for lies about 'no artificial sweeteners' but this doesn't include stevia apparently.

Doesn't stop it from tasting disgusting though so no thank you.

Asda used to do sweetener free high juice but it was never in every shop and I've not been able to find the blackcurrant version this year.

Can you share your recipe and method please?

here you go. There are all
sortsmof minor variations but this is the base I I used. Became
somewhat obsessed with the stuff living in the ME many many years ago.

Seriously, try making it! Now I’m in a rhythm, takes 5 mins to do every 3 days or so, and it tastes really lovely!

hirsuteonHRT · 10/08/2026 06:31

Found my people. I was shocked that even lucozade is full of sweeteners now. So much flavoured San pelligrino is undrinkable too now. Can’t stand sweeteners and I think companies have underestimated how many people would happily pay the sugar tax for occasional nice drinks rather than chugging aspartame, sucralose and stevia.

SisSuffragette · 10/08/2026 06:38

Dash and aqua Libra flavoured fizzy water cans are what I'm basically living off at the moment but we do stock up on the lemonade every time we go to an m&s. I also love that it is in 1 ltr bottles as it doesn't have enough time to go flat!

Recently been buying hip pop cans when on offer about £4.50 for 4 so a treat drink but delicious.

Want to get back into making water kefir. I made it regularly during lockdown. I'm going to give ginger bug a try too x

Will definitely be trying the kombucha then, thank you!

I like M&S ginger Kombocha . It’s probiotic / fermented and only about 50 calories

parietal · 10/08/2026 07:37

M&S ice tea is also good with no sweetener

PetiteParakeet · 10/08/2026 08:08

M&S Juicy cans - they are just fruit juice and fizzy water. Nice and refreshing.

What I find weird is that they advertise that these are ‘no added sugar’ but don’t promote them as ‘no sweeteners’. Companies genuinely seem unaware that there’s a massive captive market of people looking for sweetener-free drinks. It would be really obvious to launch an ‘old-school, no sweeteners’ range of fizzy drinks - significant demand and no real competition.

Fakeplasticchimneyswhy · 09/08/2026 21:46

I like the Bottle Green cordial - you can get plain Elderflower or Pomegranate & Elderflower, neither of which has artificial sweeteners. I make it up with sparkling water and drink it from a wine glass.

I find it insanely sweet

You need to find "San Pellegrino Classic". It's the one still sold in Europe. No sweeteners. Icado do it, as do Majestic.

Like others I buy cordial, Bottle Green or Belviour, and mix with fizzy water, or Fever tree when on offer. I like the FT ginger Beer and Ales, and the lemonade is good for Pimm's.

It is, but it depends how much you dilute it. A little goes a long way (and makes the bottle last longer). I keep mine for ages without refrigeration. I like too that it comes in glass bottles, not plastic.

MathiasBroucek · 10/08/2026 09:32

Thanks for all the shares. I react badly to any sweetener (including stevia) - need to go to the loo every 30 mins!

San pelli fizzy fruit drinks have sweetners now, and sugar.

Gloaminggnome · 10/08/2026 09:38

Last time I checked the Lidl cans of tonic water just had sugar in. Sainsbury's used to do one in a glass bottle but it's disappeared from my store recently

CatBusStop · 10/08/2026 09:45

Sorry to upset you all but Rocks is now ruined following a recent recipe change. It is still sweetener free thank goodness but my most recent bottle tastes like bog standard 80s orange squash rather than the juicy deliciousness it used too. A google and read of recent product reviews on supermarket websites shows other people have noticed this. All that seems to have changed is a change from cane sugar to ‘sugar’ but that seems unlikely to have made such a difference?

BrieAndChilli · 10/08/2026 11:36

bottlegreen raspberry lemonade is nice - not too sweet, they also do some other flavours but have not tried them. Got them in tesco.

I am finding it easier to find sweetener free drinks to have at home but when out and about it is impossible!! Went to a festival on the weekend and could not find anything without sweeteners in apart from a posh cocktail stand that had a nice fevertree grapefruit soda. I feel like a right loon asking to look at the ingredients but I got burnt once by being assured no sweeteners and I was in agony the next day.

They should just have kept sweeteners for the diet versions and just upped the price of the sugar versions - I would pay more.

Yes Lidl tonic is still safe. I keep stocked up in case they change the recipe.

Lidl also do lovely ginger and elderflower cordials, and when they have Italian week both their cedar soda (bright yellow) and non alcoholic aperatif (small bottles, bright red or orange) are sweetner free.
