Are households with girls first really calmer than boys first?

I had a boy first, followed by a girl. My son is a whirlwind. He’s great but he is literally never still. Up and down and spinning around in the middle of the room, scramble on the sofa and back down again. In all honesty and not wanting to sound like I ‘blame’ him it does have a bit of a negative effect on the house as I feel like I’m constantly telling him off and it winds his sister up as well.

I did always think that all girl households or houses where the girl was the first born would be calmer. My friend (with three girls!) says absolutely not! Another friend with a girl first then boy grandchildren says it’s more difficult as the younger boy hits the older girl a lot while this doesn’t happen as much with older boy / younger girl.

I am genuinely just curious, it’s not like you can do anything about it either Way! 😂

I had a calm 8 years with my daughter then boom !!!!!!!! The son was born OMG!!!! He’s something else. I can’t even compare him to my daughter. He’s been a terrible 2s,terrible 3s he’s nearly 5 with no signs of slowing down.

I have 2 young boys.
4 and 1.
the 4 year old since the minute he was born has been high maintenance. He’s a lovable whirlwind. As a baby he was needy, clingy, emotionally high needs and still is
the 1 year old I can leave to entertain himself
I’d say it’s nothing about gender but all personality

Boy first, girl second in our house, she’s absolutely feral.

10 yo boy, 4yo girl. Relatively calm household

Boy parent and I’ve only ever felt judged as a parent by those with girls (one or more, in either order)!

What’s with all these weird threads about whether girls and boys fight more than same sex siblings, or whether IVF children ‘from the same egg collection’ get on better than other siblings?

I have two boys and one girl. The girl is just very different, there is a calmness about her and she seems more emotionally intelligent from a younger age than either of the boys did. I used to wonder how people could say they were having a crafty day at home as my boys would lose the plot very quickly, they needed to be out wearing off energy every day come rain or shine. With the girl I finally understand how friends did it!

I have boy girl boy. As toddlers both the boys were very active and the girl was more chilled. But now they're older the eldest is so laid back he's horizontal! So I'd say it reflects age as well as personality.

Boy first, followed by a girl.

Neither were allowed to behave like that. Excess energy meant they were sent into the garden to play. But they weren't allowed to climb on things or jump on furniture etc. Any hitting was swiftly dealt with and rarely repeated.
