Random! My neighbour pases me a letter saying is this your name? And it was but Addressed to their address.

I open it its an invoice from fed ex saying I owe £60 in shipping or they'll take legal action as its overdue

I've not recieved any letters prior and ive never shipped with fed ex in my life

Rang customer service who said they're unsure why its against my name and to email the specialist team which I have

Has anyone had this before? I panicked but im quite sure its not my invoice ive never used fed ex to ship!!! Has someone just put my name against it???!

Thanks for all the advice❤️

Didnt contact anything on the letter got the info off their official site! Will ring again tomorrow and thank you I have documented everything and will keep track of this but I will definitely ask about where shipped from as it just says a city on the tracking doesnt give shippers name only recipients

Please do tell them that you think it maybe fraudulent, and could they please email you confirming your telephone conversation. You need physical proof that you have raised this as an issue.

Thanks I did raise this in my email! I'll be ringing again tomorrow to enquire what name was used when the parcel was dropped off

Checked my credit reports and luckily nothing opened against my name! Hope it gets sorted soon I suffer with anxiety ive had 2 panic attacks since I seen the letters but my husbands reassuring me its fine and as its not me I just explain this and it'll be okay
Thanks for all the tips. Also yes 60 quid isn't a lot it isn't that thats the main issue its the worry as to why its addressed to me that what made me panic

The address in Scotland and the mix up of your name and your neighbours address is very strange I would be cautious, like you are

i did order something from abroad and fedex paid the customs fees for me upfront then sent me an invoice. I didn’t think they did this but it was true, I was very wary paying the invoice at first

good luck getting it sorted, I know things like this play on your mind

Update! I rang fed ex and played dumb. Said I wanted to check the email address on the shipment and they told me. The email address is a male name not mine or anyone I know! So yep looks like identity fraud

Reported it to fed ex

Well done OP! That’s real detective work, I’m impressed.
Have they confirmed they won’t trouble you again?

Lol Dh said this! But when I emailed they've been very apologetic and assure me they'll remove my name off this

All solved! But a lot of panic yesterday

Not related to this thread at all but my friend and me had a fight when we were on a bus tour in US and the arrow was pointed out to us for the first time. I saw it straight away, she refused to believe it was there.

anyone else understand this argument? Pic to follow

I would make a note of exactly what the Fedex customer services said and also keep a record of the tracking for the package. It it related to a Scottish address that is your proof that the package was never delivered to you. I wouldn't worry about debt collectors. I used to work for one years ago. You don't have to prove that you don't owe the money. They have to prove that you DO. I doubt they are going to send a debt collector for a small amount like £60.

I had an international package delivered by DHL two weeks ago. Yesterday I had an incoherent message left on my voice mail and when I tracked the number on Google it was DHL. I went to their official website and input the tracking number. Seems I owed them £50 duty/vat so I just paid it on the site. Usually if you owe duty and have an incoming package DHL will email you to pay the duty up front. They dont usually deliver it until you pay up. This is the first time this has happened this way. If the package comes via Fedex they deliver it and then bill me later.
