Asking about things you wish you'd never had to explain to someone.
I'll go first: I had to explain to my children that a couple dieing, one shortly after the other is a thing, after their Gran died within 4 months of their Grandad

On a slightly more light hearted note, FIL once casually asked DH and I what ‘spit roasting’ is, because he was a teacher and heard some pupils talking about it.
That wasn’t something we really wanted to explain.

When I had to tell my twins that me and their dad were splitting up. They were 11. I'll never forget their little faces. It totally undid me and I will never not feel guilty about it. They're very happy kids now they're 16 and understand why it happened. But, I can't unsee those little faces 😞

Yes telling my 2 dc we were splitting up was also heartbreaking. I will never forget their faces. Very similar ages 8 and 11. One of the worst things I’ve had to do and I will always feel guilty about it.
