Don't Stop Believin' and Sweet Caroline. Both give me the rage for some reason

Kirawaswaiting107 · 20/06/2026 08:18

I will forever love Cornershop’s Brimful of Asha though.

I'm glad I'm slightly too young to remember that!

I've always hated this song and it was bloody played everywhere fir like 6 months!

I do, however, love Everything I Do.... by Bryan Adams. That was also everywhere for ages but I can forgive him for that

Just for you @Thebinisrightthere

Thanks for that. Don't know if it gets any better but I lasted about 20 seconds 🤣

Fair enough - love it but loathe Professional widow…

The original is good I think

I feel for you - Chaka Khan
Golden Brown - The Stranglers

First one reminds me of an old boyfriend and no idea on the second one but I hate it and always switch it off.

I like the golden brown song but I keep hearing it on instagram

Thebinisrightthere · 20/06/2026 08:41

J Lo - Ain't It Funny. Complete whingefest from beginning to end. But she's committed many crimes against music
Anything by Shakira. Awful voice
Slipping Through My Fingers by Abba. It's a beautiful song but I just can't listen to it. Has very painful memories for me. I wish someone had warned me it was in the Mamma Mia film so I didn't end up s blubbering mess

notatinydancer · 20/06/2026 08:51

I’ve looked at this again this morning.
SO many more. I could fill the thread alone.

Myblueclematis · 20/06/2026 09:17

Anything at all by Adele or Lewis Capaldi, his awful shouty voice really makes me shudder.

There's probably a lot more ...

Myblueclematis · 20/06/2026 09:24

Jolene - Dolly Parton

I don't just mute or turn it off, I almost have to run out the room as well.

I'm not a country and western music fan and really loathe these songs about "my man" doing wrong or leaving. Get a backbone woman!

Also, Tammy Wynette and Stand By Your Man

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/06/2026 09:31

Anarchy in the uk by sex pistols. In fact anything Johnny rotten ‘sings’. Anything by Nico. Don’t cha by pussycat dolls

I feel absolutely the same and get a lot of wtf about it 🤣. That said we did it in choir and I quite enjoyed it

Fushia123 · 20/06/2026 09:38

Hallelujah - whoever is singing it.

1.22 - the transition from polka to emo.
It's fucking hilarious

Thisthreadhasbeendeleted · 20/06/2026 10:32

Anything by Florence and the Machine. I can't stand her voice or delivery and the songs are shit.
Her cover of You Got the Love gives me the rage.

Thisthreadhasbeendeleted · 20/06/2026 10:34

Zombie by The Cranberries.
I'm Northern Irish, 80s childhood, and this song makes me cringe.
I can't stand any really earnest serious songs, though.

Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader makes me feel murderous

Me too!

ExquisiteDressing · 20/06/2026 10:36

Oh yes, a few more, having read the thread:

Mr Brightside - why oh why is this so popular, it’s just awful.
China in My Hand - T’Pau - pretentious twaddle
Hold Me Now - Thompson Twins - ditto and a dirge-like tune to boot.

But these songs aren't necessarily autobiographical

ExquisiteDressing · 20/06/2026 11:12

Oh and I didn’t know there was any problem with The Little Drummer Boy either.

Anything by Michael Jackson

This. 💯

Thisthreadhasbeendeleted · 20/06/2026 11:23

Anything by k.d. lang. Awful.

What is it? I can't find anything 🤔

NooNakedJacuzziness · 20/06/2026 11:32

Little Drummer Boy was a song playing on one of the tapes Ian Brady and Myra Hindley made of them torturing Lesley Ann Downey

NooNakedJacuzziness · 20/06/2026 11:34

But not the Bing & Bowie version so still happy to listen to that
