Can anyone recommend a decent 0% white wine from Aldi or Tesco?

Hello all

Can anyone one recommend a decent 0% white wine please? We have friends coming over to stay at the weekend and they are heavy wine drinkers. Im OK with a few glasses, but then switch and the constant "oh why have you stopped drinking" " ooh she's gone all teetotal" gets on oue nerves.
We've tried telling them ive had enough, bit of a lightweight etc , but they dont listen, seem to be from the school that the more you drink the more tolerant you become. They are DR'S friends, mine know im a lousey drinker!

What i plan to do is a few non alcoholic Hugo Fizz and then change to a non alcoholic white.
So if anyone knows a decent one from Marks, Aldi or Tesco ( only supermarkets near us) i would be really grateful.

The Kylie sparkling rosé isn't bad. All the whites I've tried have been awful.

Lifesyoungdream · 28/05/2026 16:40

I don’t think a 0% white exist. It all taste like sparkling grape juice

WhatAMarvelousTune · 28/05/2026 16:46

There are no nice alcohol free white wines.

Kylie 0% sparkling is ok, as is nosecco. But they don’t taste like alcoholic prosecco.

Second the Kylie sparkling rose (buy it in Sainsbury’s). I’m recovering from a knee replacement and it’s the only one I can drink. Otherwise Tanqueray 0% gin and Mediterranean fever tree tonic.

Octavia64 · 28/05/2026 16:51

Aldi didn’t do alcohol free last time I looked.

none of the others are nice but some are worse than others.

you do get used to them but your friends will not think they are wine (unless they are very very very drunk)

EllaPepper · 28/05/2026 16:51

get an empty bottle of actual white wine, and fill it with schloer or something similar that looks the part..... (i don't think i've spelt that right have i?)

ETA - i mean for you to drink from yourself, not for your friends if that makes sense.

Friends wont be drinking it, just me! As I said I can manage a few glasses, but not an entire night of wine

Never tried the Tanquerary 0% gin, is it nicer than the Gordon's one?

Noughty is the best I have found for white still or sparkling. I think a good rose option too. Sometimes in Tesco

That's not a bad idea, especially if I keep it in the fridge, I can top it up!! The others are mainly red wine drinkers.

Best to drink kombucha or appetiser. A decent zero wine doesn't exist.

Thank you all
Ive invited Dsis over as she cant drink due to medication so I have an ally. We are going.to get some Kylie 0% and see what its like. DS tells Aldi do a version of Nosecco ( we are in Scotland so I dont know if that is different) so we may have to try that and compare the two.

I like it. It doesn't really taste like gin, but makes a refreshing grown up drink with tonic water anyway.

It sounds like you need better friends. I wouldn't hold back on telling them to stop commenting on what I was drinking and if it bothered them so much perhaps they could continue their binge fest in their own home.

Oh God I so wish I could! They've got worse over the years, they seem to expect a drink as they come through the door ( we have never been party central!) If it was my friends I wouldnt hold back, although having known them since primary school they know im a lightweight!! They are going to be offered tea, coffee or a cold drink ie soft when they arrive and no booze until dinner.
DH thinks he has so few friends he feels he needs to hold onto those he has, sadly these are a few I'd gladly see the back of. It would be OK if the wives were nice, but they are just the same and so judgemental.

@Hogett Yes, I think Tanqueray is nicer than Gordons.

Bjorkdidit · 29/05/2026 09:17

I've tried a lot of low/no alcohol drinks.

Nothing is a good substitute taste wise and you'd not mistake any of them for the real deal unless you have no taste buds. The least worst ones are beer and sparkling wine. Alcohol free gins are just pointless, too sweet, waste of money. Red wine substitutes are horrible.

I'd go for Nosecco or tonic water with just ice and lemon and prepare it out of sight so they can't see that you didn't put the gin in.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 29/05/2026 09:23

There’s a nice zero alcohol Prosecco in Sainsbury’s (called No-Secco, or something similar). And M&S have their own version, called Fizzero.

Both very nice.

Coldiron · 29/05/2026 10:22

The aldi zerosecco is much nicer than the kylie 0% IMO

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 29/05/2026 10:30

You can get the half and half (is it fruit juice? And wine). I’ve had that before. Very nice.

Hedgehog23 · 29/05/2026 10:33

I’ve only had alcohol free gin once, but I think that a nice tonic water is actually fine on its own (learnt while pregnant) and it’s cheaper. And they won’t know if you’re getting your own drinks.

Thecomedyclub · 29/05/2026 10:37

I think the one drink which is really good in non alcohol version is cider. Thatchers and Inch are excellent and you can’t tell the difference. Very refreshing in this heat!

Purplecatshopaholic · 29/05/2026 10:41

Thatchers zero cider is nice, I agree. I also like Nosecco. There’s a white ‘wine’ called Zero Regrets, think I got it in Aldi - it’s ok. However, I havent found a truly decent zero % white yet either. I get a low alcohol one and add ice and lemonade.
