DfE pupil data is out today and shows that the number of private school pupils has dropped 5.6% since VAT was introduced.

Not 25% like the independent schools council predicted. Or the 50% we saw in some right-wing papers.

Note that state school numbers are down 1.9% due to falling birth rates over the same time period so the fall in private school numbers attributable to VAT is at most 3.7%.

OK. Best not to discuss further as would be TAAT territory.

So there was no mass exodus to state schools.

The sad face parents struggling on £200,000 per year because of higher private school fees was a myth.

So some of the private schools which have closed would have regardless of the VAT change?

Reform have picked up £7 million donations from 2 crapto billionaires since January.

Why would they do that?

Because Farage has published a paper committing to a) cut stamp duty on crapto transactions from 24% to 10% and b) deregulate the sector.

This might also explain why he personally pocketed £5 million pounds.

And of course Farage has a personal stake in crapto.

There are so many possible reasons for that £5 million donation I feel spoilt for choice.

Starmer is backing her and also hits out at Musk and X for whipping up division

Time for the government to stop using that platform.

Got our fascist funday next weekend (13th) - hope it has died down by then. It’s certainly organised higher up than our local group, who can’t find their arse with both hands and a map - nor can they spell our home city correctly. So there’s already some lovely folk being shipped in, so I’ve heard, hoping they don’t increase it in light of this rubbish.
