Philp is quite happy circling that particular drain though.

He’s as bad as Jenrick, he’d probably be happier defecting.

I’m surprised he hasn’t - perhaps even Farage doesn’t want him! Equally likely he’s debating between Reform and Restore.

BIossomtoes · 03/06/2026 09:41

He backed Remain for Brexit, not that Farage seemed to care about that when he welcomed Jenrick. He’s now said he doesn’t want any more Tory defectors. Philp would probably lose his seat if he moved across, his majority was greatly reduced in 2024.

Efacsen · 03/06/2026 10:04

Agree about Philps

derxa · 03/06/2026 10:15

So did you all agree about taking the knee for Keith Floyd?

I used to love watching his cookery programmes but not sure what the knee stuff is about.

In the US, there is a clear problem with the police killing black people disproportionately. Keith Floyd was only one example of many. The killing of Breonna Taylor was particularly egregious. You're clearly trying to score points here about the Henry Nowak case by conflating the two, when the context is so vastly different. Why is that?

I think we can all agree that the police officers in the Nowak case got it very badly wrong. But if you can't see that Farage and his ilk are using this as a way to throw petrol on the fire, you've been played.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2026 10:20

I did @derxa

Why are you asking?

The likes of Lowe wouldn't even recognise Henry Novak as English if it wasn't for suiting his narrative.

Happy to fight discrimination in any form.

Notonthestairs · 03/06/2026 10:22

I’ve got no idea what the connection is between George Floyd’s murder by a police officer and Henry Nowack’s murder.

Loved Keith Floyd on tv - but I’ll bet he was a nightmare to work with.

Notonthestairs · 03/06/2026 10:23

Nowak not Nowack.

TemperanceWest · 03/06/2026 10:23

Joking aside, that is straight from the Reform script @derxa

Eta: you could have at least expressed sadness at the murder of Henry Nowak before using it as an attempt to criticise us. Even Farage managed that before weaponising it.

derxa · 03/06/2026 10:29

Of course I meant George

TemperanceWest · 03/06/2026 10:31

derxa · 03/06/2026 10:29

Of course I meant George

Why do you even feel the need to ask us the question?

BIossomtoes · 03/06/2026 10:31

derxa · 03/06/2026 10:29

Of course I meant George

All the questions above still apply.

I’m a Kemi fan. We should not be discriminating one against another.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2026 10:35

We should also stand up against racism.

Which is what taking the knee was all about. It wasn't specifically about GF. But possibly you don't understand that.

I think you’d find, had you bothered to read the thread, that this is one of the rare occasions many of us agree with the majority of her verdict on this.

Really?

TemperanceWest · 03/06/2026 10:39

I find it pretty distasteful that @derxa has used the murder of Henry Nowak as a vehicle for one of her visits to admonish us. Shameful.

Notonthestairs · 03/06/2026 10:39

I don't agree that there is any connection with George Floyd.
Not sure I see any connection with Stephen Lawrence either given how his case was bungled and the murderers largely got off scot free.

Digwa was arrested, put on trial and locked up.

TemperanceWest · 03/06/2026 10:40

derxa · 03/06/2026 10:39

Oh I really can't be arsed, quite frankly.

@derxa

Taking the knee was what people choose to do, not everyone did it. You can disagree with it without mocking it like Farage did.

You are a football fan, you see the racism aimed at black players.
