That reminds me of something.
When I was a kid, we bathed once a week whether we needed it or not…and shared the bath water. We didn’t have showers. We didn’t have hot water from taps. it was heated in a boiler and carried in buckets to the bath.
Since, I’ve been known to shower 4 times in a day, because of work .
Did you know, our excessive cleaning/ personal hygiene, use of chemicals to clean ourselves , and our processed diet, too, is linked to the increase in diabetes , cardiovascular diseases, colon cancer, autoimmune disorders, colitis, Crohn’s and other chronic conditions?
There are tribes that rarely wash…short of water…don’t use our chemicals, eat only unprocessed fresh food, meat, sweet fruits, nuts, berries and they don’t smell of sweat, even in 30 deg heat? They smell of woodsmoke, because they cook over fires, and their earthy scent. But not rank like we get. Because they wash with water and sand. No chemicals. Their gut microbiome means they don’t have the particular bacteria that cause sweat stink. Nor do they get the diseases named above.
Some tribes never use water at all. But they live with nature, not fighting it. ..and research has shown ethnicity affects odour . “Odorous, volatile short-chain fatty acids, albeit more minor, are contributors to human axillary odor (Harker et al. 2014). Our results reveal a marginal effect on the relative amounts of these compounds across the ethnic groups studied. The reduced presence of these short-chain acids, in addition to low levels of E- and Z-3M2H documented here and by others (Akutsu et al. 2006; Harker et al. 2014), most likely contribute to the reduced malodor reported for individuals of Asian descent (typically TT homozygotes).‘’ “Overall, our findings suggest that an individual's ethnicity has a significant impact on human axillary odor production.”
