Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my conservatory spot before it gets too hot! I've been out to water my plants with my new hose pipe spray attachment but don't think I like it so will do the rest with the watering can 🙈.

The cats have had breakfast & are currently bird watching in here too. Girl cat will probably follow dd2 back upstairs when she goes - she's just hijacked dd's glass of water 🤣. I'm not sure where boy's gone.

Todays plan is to re-pot my violets in their new hanging basket - the one they were in fell down and broke. I want to paint the hallway ceiling too. And that's probably it! Maybe sort peg dolls for painting since I didn't get to them yesterday but I think my paints will dry very quickly in this heat. The rest of the day might be spent reading or crocheting.

Dd needs to tidy her room since we were out longer than planned yesterday, and she wants to do some biology revision.

Tea will be roast chicken with salad and maybe new potatoes, or in wraps. I might nip for a bottle of something to go with it, and I might make some no churn ice cream for afters.

What about all of you? 🌞

As little as possible, still feel exhausted from yesterday, starting to wonder if I'm getting ill. Took DD and her friend to church in the morning so they can get more marks on their confirmation school church lists, thought it would be over in an hour so arrived to pick them up but it didn't finish for another 40 minutes.

Drinking tea right now, might watch some telly soon, then I'll have to start thinking about dinner. Early night tonight.

Good afternoon everyone!

I was up with the larks this morning because of the warmth, and got the washing on the line before 8:30. It was bone dry by lunchtime, but is still out there. :)
I then drove round to the garden centre, as needed a few more pots to plant out my tomato seedlings, and then to Tesco to take advantage of a £4 off a £40 spend. Tesco used to be my weekly supermarket before I moved 18 months ago, and I thought the prices were reasonable. But they seem dearer now than they did!
Home, and looking forward to potting out my last few plants, but next door are having some sort of party... Loud voices and a kids inflatable roaring away... So much for my peaceful time with my plants. But perhaps I can have a quiet hour out there with my book later this evening. It does sound a bit quieter out there now...
But next job is to drive the 15 mins or so over to my friends house, as I've agreed to water her greenhouse for the next two days... Not necessarily what I fancy doing, but I'll remember the favour for some other occasion. :)

Good afternoon @lucysmam and all - very late to the party today.
It’s roasting hot here today so not a lot has been done. Went to my dbros this morning to help shift some furniture as they’re having new carpet fitted (well, Dh and the boys did, I drank coffee with SiL) then dropped ds2 at work.
We’ve been in the garden for most of the day, reading, browsing holidays and relaxing. Dh is barbecuing a whole chicken for dinner, which we’ll have with potato salad and coleslaw. Need to try and have an early night as we’re leaving at 7am tomorrow to empty ds1’s uni house but I can’t see it happening as our bedroom was like a furnace last night
