Well done Gunners!

The one bloody day i dont have my car, would love to take dd down to the stadium to celebrate!

Hopefully there will be a big bus that comes around!

Got to be easier than a Villa themed picnic, I'd be stuck with beetroot and mouldy food, so it's a no from me!

I think the telly and an indoor picnic is probably best. She can wear her shirt, you could colour theme some of the food, e.g. strawberries and cream, margarita pizza, that sort of thing.

@Peridot1 @MauriceTheMussel @runningonberocca @CollectingAllTheACEs @Elliania and those who advised before, I have listened and will do a picnic and home celebration with dd

She has been getting hi 5s from locals whilst wearing her arsenal top, so that will stay in her memory bank, plus we'll take photos and visit the stadium once more (during the day, before parade day)

I can be a bit stubborn but its bloody clear i was clutching at straws 😭🙈

Thank you for being well meaning ❤️

Spend the money you would have spent on the inevitable parking ticket on a top picnic!

@mumofoneAloneandwell - I am also saying it as the mum of an Arsenal fan. DS is almost 25 and has been a fan since he was about 4. This has been a long time coming! I asked him if he wanted to go and he looked at me as if I was mad! Buying him the Champions jersey instead. To add to his collection of every football jersey he has ever had since the age of four! He has kept every one.

murasaki · 25/05/2026 23:34

When I watched the live stream of our parade on tv on Thursday, I was wearing a replica 82 European cup winning shirt an ex bought me years ago, had wine and was whatsapping my villa mates as it went on. Dp came in half way through and enjoyed the madness.

It can be good at home, and it will be for the OP and her girl.

murasaki · 25/05/2026 23:36

Also, I love that she's getting hi 5s from the locals, she'll remember that

Thank you 🥺 x

I think it'll be fun - the flat will be kitted out in flags and beach stuff - love island, the world cup etc its gonna be a good summer even though we can't get to the parade irl

I'm laughing now, I was being a bit unreasonable 😭😭

I think it’s the right decision OP. Things have changed since I sat on my Dad’s shoulders at Highbury Corner in the 70s. I hope you both have a great day.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 26/05/2026 14:19

Thanks @DialSquare xx

Sorry to derail the thread everyone! 😄😄

Normal Arsenal celebrations to continue! 🏆🏆

Bragging about having 27 million ‘fans’ worldwide isn’t the flex you think it is, it just confirms Arsenal are a gigantic global brand attracting millions of casuals, tourists and glory supporters with zero connection to the club, area or culture.

That’s precisely why proper local football fans roll their eyes at modern superclubs. Football used to be tribal and community-based. Now it’s someone in Singapore tweeting “North London is red” while someone from Surrey who’s been to three games in their life tells actual match-going fans how massive Arsenal are.

Congratulations on becoming the Disney version of a football club.

God you are a proper saddo, thinking anything you say is going to make an ounce of difference to how the winning fans feel. #plasticfantastic

I wonder if Danny will forgive him when he inevitably moves this summer.

@mumofoneAloneandwell - they’ve just released an updated route, and it’s a lot longer/bigger radius, so whilst there’s more space now, I also think they increased it in anticipation of mega crowds, which doesn’t help you.

It is going right past our house - whilst I won’t be venturing outside, I can ask DH to get some pics of the bus and post here for your DD. It’s a smidge more personal than her seeing a random one on social media, I suppose

I think the day/weekend will be a shitshow - no signs on our road yet (!), so we’ve got 3 days to find somewhere safe for the car - so I still firmly believe you’re best off not coming done.

He's off the Xmas card list.....

CollectingAllTheACEs · 27/05/2026 19:44

I can't lie I'm now absolutely dreading it but I already have my train tickets and hotel for Friday and Saturday (coming home Sunday night) - it's cost me £300 which I don't want to waste. I'm also panicking about Saturday after seeing the queues outside the pubs last week - if I was going alone I would have booked a ticket for somewhere maybe in Central or East London but my friend is adamant we HAVE to be near the Emirates which makes it tricky. I can't stand the thought of having to queue up potentially from 9am or so for an 11am opening and then hang around in a stuffy pub for 6 hours before the match even kicks off.

I can't even start drinking then as I'm a complete lightweight!

MauriceTheMussel · 27/05/2026 19:46

@CollectingAllTheACEs - oof! One of the main fan pubs had punters queueing for tickets yesterday and they had to sell them there and then because of the dangerous heat. Good luck out there

I’ve been looking at the route - I’m in the middle of it so think my car is ok but I will be trapped 🤣 Had an idea of it this morning as I got the bus to the Whittington and noticed barriers already out on Seven Sisters Road. My son’s best friend has recently moved from Surrey to Essex Road - he’s an Arsenal supporter so that probably justifies his rent!

I'm not built for London life or London heat, I'm in the North East! I think I will negotiate and see if there is ANYWHERE we can get a ticket to watch - my friend doesn't get up until about 2pm most of the time plus I'm the one who has booked and organised everything so think I should have the final say.

MauriceTheMussel · 27/05/2026 20:05

Well, strike the Tollington off for the CL match!

Are all screening tickets at the Emirates sold?

They went in seconds... I've just persuaded my friend to book somewhere called Egg in Kings Cross (that's where we're staying as our train gets in late Friday night) - it opens at 2pm and since we have tickets that means we can have a more leisurely morning, get some breakfast and maybe even go up to the ground beforehand and have a wander...

The Tollington you'd probably need to queue from 8am! The Emirates tickets sold in seconds, I'm a red member and had no chance
