Hi was hoping to get some help with staying in Blackpool in the summer.
It will be myself and my 16 year old.
I have never been to Blackpool so don't really know what I'm doing. I dont drive so whilst in Blackpool we will be walking and public transport.

I have booked a room close to Blackpool North Station and North pier. Thats costing me 300 for 3 nights. But I have just come across a room for 164 for 3 nights but its near the south pier they are bith budget hotels. Both have private bathroom. The reason I booked the hotel in Blackpool North wss because it's close to the train station and north pier which is where we are likely to do more stuff.
But is paying 300 worth it or when I can get a room for 164. Im wondering how easy travel/walking is and how safe it is. Im torn between 300 or 164. Money wise 164 makes sense. But im not sure in location..

So has anyone been /know the area?

Oh my god Wheretostay is going to Blackpool- end of!All they wanted was advice for North or South not totally different towns.
We go to Blackpool a couple of times a year but for different reasons to you (music weekends/drinking weekends)been going for years and yes it has got rougher and more run down like many places have, and you have to be wary at night ,again like many places.
I also very much doubt your going to be dragging a 16 year old round all the pubs on the piss at night ,so you should be OK.🙄
Anyway back to what you asked it doesn't really matter which end you stay as the trams run v frequently and there's stuff to do at South , Central and North so if you want the cheaper option go for it as one day you might want to go to South pier, pleasure beach or sandcastle so then you'd be nearer for that.
Definitely check the reviews first though on TripAdvisor.Theres that much competition in Blackpool that sometimes you might find a little gem for a reasonable price, but there are also lots of shitholes so just a warning.Other than that hope you both enjoy.

Also forgot to add if you're lucky with the weather it's not actually a bad walk from south to north ,and vice versa. You can walk along the prom with central pier half way or go down the backstreets if you like to browse the shops or indoor markets(think they're still there!)

That's what I'm thinking that time of year there will be families doing normal family things.

Yes, all year round there are families, I’ve lived in Blackpool my whole life and have never seen gangs of men prowling like pp suggest 😂

I'm glad I didn't fully believe it. Because dd is looking forward to 2 days of air show. Its shame red arrows won't be there though

We've stayed at the Premier Inn near North Pier a few times and it's always been fine. Bentleys chippy is a short walk from it and we always make sure to go there, it's delicious. As a pp said its also handy for the velvet coaster Wetherspoons for a cheap and cheerful breakfast, much better value for money than the hotel's onsite restaurant. The arcade club is near there too, my teenager loved it, as well as the traditional arcades up the town.

I know I’m gutted the red arrows won’t be on. The rest of the show is good though and there is always a lovely atmosphere on that weekend. You’ll have a fab time 😀

I think Blackpool can be nice for a day out on a nice day but you couldn’t pay me to stay there

look at somewhere in Lytham st Anne’s instead and visit Blackpool for the day.

Fast800goingforit · Yesterday 21:33

I'd stay in Lytham St Annes. North Shore is better than South in Blackpool if you have to stay in Blackpool.
