If we had another lockdown happen, i doubt it but if it did, what would you do different this time round.

I cant say i would change anything as i live alone, and i enjoyed it tbvh.
I didnt go mad with stock piling.

But if it happened again i would knit another quilt.

I don't know. My now 18 year old tried to take his own life during lockdown. It was just such an awful time but I don't know what I could have done differently.

MyM8Marmite · 11/05/2026 22:59

I wouldn't change anything. I didn't comply then and wouldn't now.

I didn’t agree with the lockdowns in the first place so I wouldn’t do anything differently.

ThePieceHall · 11/05/2026 23:03

I would not wear a mask, no way, nor would I terrify my kids by insisting they wore one. To be honest, I just wouldn’t follow any of the rules again. And I am a highly law-abiding citizen who has never had licence points or a parking ticket in 30 years of driving.

MeganM3 · 11/05/2026 23:06

I would not let my kids be subjected to not seeing any other kids. Would bubble with another family with multiple children, at the very least. So they could all have some socialisation and play together.

Other than that I’d be fairly compliant and get on with it like we did last time.

Ifithappens · 11/05/2026 23:08

Im not an anti vax person, but i did not have the covid jab.
And now with this new virus i think they will make a new jab for us to have, im not ashamed to admit i will turn it down.

Some folk i know that have had the first jab got unwell, some still have health problems still.
And other have never seemed themselfs since having it.

Recognising how many people are now happy - even proud - to spray their infections around, I'd be at least as cautious as I was before. I live quietly alone anyway, so didn't miss out too much.

I do understand how hard it was for many people. I wish that, instead of going 'fuck that and everybody else', they were thinking up better ways of handling lockdown if it's needed again.

getupdostuffgotobed · 11/05/2026 23:09

If I suspected it was coming I’d stockpile diy materials. Food shopping was ok last time but diy was harder.

Spend more time on the phone and write letters.

Get up early + walk round park every day.

Would I stick to the rules - yes. But in doing so we missed my MIL’s last Christmas. Maybe we should have broken them?

Nodirectionhome · 11/05/2026 23:16

I loved lockdown. I was cycling everywhere at that time and there was hardly any traffic on the roads. The shops were quiet. I lived alone then and still do. I went for peaceful walks along the canal on my days off. There were no planes disturbing the peace and I could hear the bird song. No planes. Peace and quiet. I was a keyworker so carried on working. I am retired now so if there was another lockdown it would be very different for me but I would comply with the rules.

Davros · 11/05/2026 23:17

Buy more bog rolls. We were seriously in need

tiramisugelato · 11/05/2026 23:18

I’d ignore it and carry on as normal. Fuck that noise.

It was like nature was healing, the planet was getting better, wildlife trees plants everything seemed to be healing.

Nothing lockdown was the best time of my entire life and I'm tired of pretending it was not.

Eh? Why do you have to pretend it wasn't good and you're tired of pretending? How often do you have to do it that it makes you tired?

DeftWasp · 11/05/2026 23:25

I worked entirely as normal through lockdown and was out and about every day - so I imagine it would be the same.

Squirrelchops1 · 11/05/2026 23:27

Not be a keyworker! All these fuckers enjoying a couple of months in the sun.....nope, I worked.
I'd fuck off the limits on walking outside too.

I’m sorry. He must have been very young. I hope he’s doing better. My daughter took her life last year, and stories of survivors give me hope.

Whiteheadhouse · 11/05/2026 23:36

Be so suspicious of everything. I am a very very different person since covid. I don't trust the government.

Tiptapy · 11/05/2026 23:37

With so many people coming in to the county no suprise, we`re having alsorts of bugs flu, etc.
There i said it.

Then sciences will come up with some crazy new jab that claims it will cure us all (bullshit) like the last one.

People going mad with stocking and trying to sell it on.

What will i do different NOTHING i did not stick to the rules with covid so wont do this time if it happens.

However i did enjoy lockdown its self as it was peacfull and cant wait if theres another.

Zov · 11/05/2026 23:37

NOT do what they told me.

NOT stay in.

NOT stick to the rules.

This! No, I didn’t learn how to weld/ knit/ brew my own beer etc.. I worked, as did OH and as we were both key workers managed to get DC back in school with the second tranche if returning children.

What annoyed me the most was the “I AM VULNERABLE!!! LOCK UP YOUR DISEASE RIDDEN DC!!”
lot, having been among the first to get the vaccine, wanted to go back to a new normal which gave them
all the freedom, but curtailed everyone else. The most selfish lot ever

PoppinjayPolly · 11/05/2026 23:41

Actually wondering if they didn’t offer paid furlough.. how many would want it again?

Tiptapy · 11/05/2026 23:41

Callmeback · 11/05/2026 22:43

I wouldn't bleach my food shopping.
I wouldn't stick to the 1 hour limit on walking outside.

You went as far as bleaching down your food shop.

To be fair thats not as bad as some, a woman in my area went shopping in a biohazard outfit.

Another use to shout at people if she saw them waking past her house, or her in the street, STAY BACK, GET INDOORS YOUR NOT ALLOWED OUT.

It would be fun to see her start up again it was entertaining.
