If you have sleep headphones what do you listen to?

Had some sleep headphones a few months ago for my birthday. Usually listen to rain noise, white noise or sleep sounds but getting a bit bored of them. I have Amazon Alexa which apparently have lots of different options but can’t find list of them anywhere. Any recommendations please?

Oooh, what are sleep headphones? I listen to audiobooks or podcasts at night with my AirPods in, but don’t like sleeping with them in as I’m sure it can’t be good for your ears, so I’m interested in an alternative

I listen to my current audiobook and set a 10 min sleep timer as I’m usually out like a light. Fave soothing podcasts at the moment are The Clearing by Katherine May of Wintering fame, and Dig It with Zoe Ball & Jo Whiley

Mine are called Mussage, arrived from Australia in less than a week

Audible have a brilliant series called the Sleeping World. Each episode is about an hour and is a nature documentary that fades into a soundscape. They are read by a very calm sounding woman! They are interesting enough not to be annoying, but not so interesting you stay awake.

other than that, any radio drama or play that I’ve already heard (lots of old poirots, Paul temple mysteries, Charles Paris etc on audible or on bbc sounds).

I use the snoozeband, which I really like.

I have a snooze band. Game changer for me. I like to sleep on my side and I found that my AirPods made my ears really hurt after a while. It also keeps the hair out of my eyes which is an added bonus.

I've got the top selling sleep headband from that site I don't wish to advertise. Musicozy is the brand.

Can people please post links to their sites if not Audible or their library etc?

As posted early I mostly listen to BBC Sounds, but the audiobooks on there are mostly depressing, angsty stuff. It has Cranford and Diary of a Nobody but not much else in the way of amusing or cheerful classics.

I have a Snoozeband and downloaded their app which has lots of different sounds on it. Gentle rain is lovely! The eye mask part is great because DH goes to bed after me and the landing light inevitably wakes me up, unless I’ve got my Snoozeband on. He is away now so I play podcasts or the BBC World Service on my phone

I bought a cheap Musicozy one to try and was very happy so dh then bought me a snoozeband for my birthday last year. The fabric was softer but it stretched a lot and was difficult to keep in place . Then exactly a week after my birthday this year, so just out of the 12 month guarantee period, it died. I’ve now gone back to my old cheap one which is till plugging on after almost 3 years. I wouldn’t buy another snoozeband.

Empire World History podcast is one I'm loving at the moment, I often go back and finish off episodes during the day as well.

I used to listen to the BBC World Service but I can't bear the news and current affairs anymore.

Sleep Sound on Audible. Both Luke Evans and Jamie Dornan are good. That or the Nothing Much Happens podcast.

Yes - I wasn't happy with Snoozeband. Simply wasn't loud enough for me [partially deaf] and likewise my Musicozy keeps on trucking.

Audiobooks. Get borrow box or similar and listen to whichever book you fancy. Mine recognise when I am asleep and turn off.

Which ones are those, if you don't mind me asking?

Boring audiobooks. If I find it too interesting I don’t go to sleep. I’m listening to one about fishing at the moment. I have no interest in fishing. It sends me to sleep in minutes. I use the timer. Some books I have to go back and restart from the last point I remember but this one is not one where I care about missing any. I have an Audible subscription (which I use for books I really want to listen to)?but they also have a lot of free books - some are good, lots are very dull. perfect for inducing sleep.

The shipping forecast is great for being able to switch off too 😊

I don’t have headphones but I’m also another one who sticks it under a pillow or just to the side.

I often listen to those sleepy history channels on YouTube, yes I know their AI but some of them are surprisingly good, and if I’m honest I need to sleep.

a familiar audiobook is good too.

At the moment I’m listening to a YouTuber who has an allotment, I love watching her channel anyway and it’s familiar and she just talks about plants and I’m out for the count pretty quickly.

I can’t sleep without listening to something, it was a habit when late dh was in hospital 5 years ago and my mind was in turmoil.
