I need some positive plantar fascisis stories!

My heel is killing me! Sat here rolling a golf ball and stretching my calves on naproxen.
I wear hoka trainers

Has anyone a positive story of this being cured?

I had it really bad for a long time. These insoles really helped, as well as wearing Nike Air Max 90 trainers. They were the only ones that suited me.

I haven’t had it for a few years now at all.

I need some positive plantar fascisis stories!

Oh god this is awful! I was given a bunch of stretches by an American dr which sorted me right out after days of limping around. I’ll try describe them…

First, propping my foot up against a wall and using my other leg as a sort of lunge to rock back and forth.

second, bending my toes back and forth in reps while sitting with foot in lap

and third which seemed to give the most relief, sitting with foot on opposite knee, pretend the sole of your foot is like a leaf with a line going down the centre. Now starting in the middle move up and down the foot by following where the horizontal veins would be with your thumbs pressing firmly.

My husband had it and was in a lot of pain, he went to a podiatrist who made him some insoles, best money we've ever spent.

I’ve had it reoccur a few times. I also have super tight calfs and have found that using a massage gun on those and my foot arches really helps.

I just came on here to search for something on PF ... had it for a year, it went away but now it's come back and it's driving me mad. Advice from the podiatrist is to prop a board on a couple of books to give a 45 degree angle and stand on this for 5 minutes morning and evening. It helps but it does take time.

My PF really improved after some sessions with a physio and I’m back to normal now. Additionally, make sure not to wear flat soled shoes/flip flops and try to wear footwear with arch support such as Sketchers arch support range and don’t walk bare foot either.

I didn’t think I’d ever be able to walk without pain again but things do improve with exercises and wearing correct footwear. Good luck.

It will go eventually, I found letting my heels hang off the bottom stair helped stretch it and up again. Also rolling heel on frozen bottles of water.

I had a severe bout but I’m managing well now. I was very careful to stretch the foot and calves, and to always always wear cushioned shoes (with additional insoles). At home, i wear thick crocs, never stand barefoot anytime. If I do I instantly feel it.
able to walk and run without a problem. Standing for long triggers it so I avoid that as well

Mine got better with non-custom orthotics in trainers, stretching, icing, massage and physio tape. The podiatrist warned me to avoid soft squidgy shoes like crocs and the memory foam Skechers, I mostly wear Birkenstocks now and I think yoga helps mine. Been free of it apart from the odd twinge for probably about 8 years now. I had it in both feet and it was horrendous.

As per PP - in desperation after almost a year of pain, I went to a podiatrist who custom made insoles. They felt very uncomfortable at first, but certainly did the trick and no pain after a couple of weeks use.

I’ve had it v badly for the last year (helped by inner soles though) and then literally 2 weeks ago I realised I hadn’t had any pain for ages. It’s completely gone, so there is hope! I continued to exercise throughout it with the help of the inner soles, link here: Fasciitis-Welnove-Absorption-Cushions-Orthotic which I still wear the whole time, but they transformed the pain. It is absolutely agony. Mine was so bad I was hobbling when I first got up in the mornings and was visibly limping enough that people asked what the matter was.

I never let my feet touch the floor without some form of shoe on. I wore Crocs as slippers around the house and even in the shower, plus buying arch support shoes or getting arch support insoles for my existing shoes. Massaging and stretching them helped too.

It took a long time, months in fact but that's two years ago and it hasn't come back. I can walk barefoot now but pretty much never do and have kept up with wearing the arch support shoes as I don't ever want to have it again.

Lots of stretches for your leg/calf.

Best thing I did was be barefoot.

I had it badly. Custom orthotics and in a lot of pain.

Then I took a job in India where everyone wears sandals and takes their shoes off and is barefoot indoors. No arch support in my shoes and I was barefoot at the office and at home, so probably 20-23 hours a day. It sorted me right out.

I don’t wear shoes at home and I’ve mostly worked from home for 15 years, so again, very rarely wear shoes. Only when out and about. I’ve never had any problems again and that was 20 years ago.

Orthotic insoles and shockwave therapy cured mine. I had it for 2 years and been free of it for about 6 now.

Mine went eventually by doing the exercise on the stair to stretch - also getting instep supports in all shoes, never wearing flip
flops

I really sympathise. I had a flair up since coming back from holiday recently. I haven't had this pain for at least a year or so.

Back to wearing a support sock - just a cheap one from Amazon. I am in agony though.

Are Hoka's any good? I am wearing Vionic trainers again after a year of being able to wear Adidas...which is probably what has messed my foot up.

I got some insoles made that I put in my shoes and I never walk barefoot and it just went after a while.
