What would you like for Mothers Day?

As the title suggests. What would you like this year?
I have 3 young children so it is down to DH to organise.

I’d be happy with a bottle of fizz, some mini eggs and homemade cards (I know nursery and school do this).

Extra’s welcome…a lie in, coffee waiting for when I wake and to do absolutely nothing all day.

For my 14 year old daughter to be magically cured of her eating disorder and back home where she belongs rather than the CAMHS eating disorder residential unit she’s currently living at. But other than that, a lie in, coffee made for me all day and maybe something nice for lunch.

ERthree · 10/03/2026 22:01

A card and daffs.

NoKnickerElastic · 10/03/2026 22:03

To be left alone!

My mum 😪
This will be first MD since she died.

Realistically, though 😅, I'd like an afternoon with wine and cheese board, in PJs, watching a movie with my DH, and my teenage DSs

Onetwothreefourgo · 10/03/2026 22:05

A lie in and breakfast in bed followed by a steaming hot bubble bath… glass of fizz and not having to cook.

Kay00 · 10/03/2026 22:09

My daughter is two, and I highly suspect my OH has forgotten. So I suspect I'll be getting nothing.

I bought some chocs and cards for mine and his mum, but I doubt I'll get anything. If I bring it up he'll probably say something like "well, your not my mum" 🙄

Seagroves · 10/03/2026 22:10

My DC are all mid to late teens so a lie-in is guaranteed 😉

I’d like an almond croissant for breakfast, cards and a cup of tea made for me whenever I ask!
presents or flowers are always a bonus, but not really fussed.

What I do really want is roast lamb for lunch which DH will cook!

Alittlebitofthebauble · 10/03/2026 22:10

@SpunkForMilk, snap! Hope you get your cheese and wine family day. We're spending ours (siblings and I, plus partner and kids) on an outing of some kind. It's been a hard few years, so will be nice to mark the occasion, but more to be distracted from the occasion if you know what I mean.

IHateAlzheimers · 10/03/2026 22:12

I'm getting all my boys home at the same time AND my lovely Dil and granddaughter on her first mother's day. I could not feel more spoilt and excited 😊

Sending love to those of you who won't get that joy this year. A few years ago I thought I'd hardly ever see one boy again and now this so miracles do happen.

Nickelouch · 10/03/2026 22:17

A lie-in with a pot of tea! And then lots of snuggles with all of my kids. A cheesy film I love with everyone watching without complaining, something like Grease, in PJs with wine and lots of snacks. Hopefully M and S charcuterie and cheese. No actual cooking by anyone (it’s usually me but if it’s anyone else it would stress me out)

SlimShandy · 10/03/2026 22:19

Honestly, I don't want anything.
My eldest will be on a nursing placement, my youngest will be at work in a cafe.
If they chose to give me a card or bunch of flowers then that's lovely, but I have told them there's no need to buy me anything just because.
I will go and see my adorable 87 year-old Mum for the afternoon, and she will ply me with tea and biscuits.

Oh bless you. I’ll remember you. I can’t give you a gift or anything but I’ll think of you FlowersBrewCakeall

OopsieeDaisy · 10/03/2026 22:26

I’d love just for DH to get up with the kids and bring me a coffee (and maybe a pastry!) in bed, that I can enjoy in peace and without microwaving it three times like I usually have to! Then a nice family walk would be lovely.

duckydoo234 · 10/03/2026 22:28

I'll be watching Groundhog Day, This Is Spinal Tap, and Beautiful Thing with my girls. With loads of snacks and probably some beer. Thankfully no man around to spoil a thing.

FusionChefGeoff · 10/03/2026 22:29

I love a plant or bush to plant up. Camelia’s are plentiful at this time of year.

Eat the chocolates you got his mother. She may be lovely and deserve them - eat them anyway.

Giving them to her means she doesn't realise he's a lazy git in this respect. She may not lambast him for it, but there'll be a little dawning realisation he's not perfect. Plus if he has to shop for her, he's more likely to shop for you.

whatdoyouactuallymean · 10/03/2026 22:34

I'd love a flaky pastry in bed, complete with DC taking sneaky bites of it. A bag of mini eggs, and a card they've made.

skiqueen20 · 10/03/2026 22:34

To have a lie in, not have to cook or think about food for anyone else in the house, for everyone in the house to keep it tidy and for the kids to not wind each other up.

To have my three (adult) children with me. This year I'll only have one, who is local. I suffer from mothers day, birthday & Easter in quick succession.

At least you have one. I never have my kids around in Mothers Day. It makes me so sad.

LilyBunch25 · 10/03/2026 22:47

For my own Mum to still be here 💕

Cantthinkofadifferentname · 10/03/2026 22:48

My Mum and Mother-in-law but both no longer with us.
Told kids (teens) I don't want anything other than a hug from them.
Mothers day isn't the same for me now I'm the oldest mum on both sides of the family.

TheUsualChaos · 10/03/2026 22:48

Cards and a cup of tea in bed.
To not have to make any decisions or think about organising meals all day.

Thegoofylife · 10/03/2026 22:49

I’d like my daughter aged 18 to make an effort to- a card, genuine hug and a bit of kindness - she’s been a bit horrible lately so that would make it much better
