Mine is amongst others that carbonara should only ever be made with long pasta, none of your penne, or fusili nonsense.

Fruit IN cheese. Like a wensleydale with cranberry. Absolutely disgusting!

Tacohill · 19/02/2026 16:15

@mnhq can we please get the laugh emoji button back as well as a dislike button??!! 🙏🙏

Fruit and nut chocolate is the best.
Mint and chocolate is the best.
There is no other way to eat crisps apart from tipping the bag up directly into your mouth.
Dungarees on pregnant women are cute.
Etc etc etc

There are loads I agree with too though

DeftGoldHedgehog · 19/02/2026 16:15

A well made korma can be delicious though.

My choice is a prawn dhansak, but I'd never object to a well made chicken korma if someone presented me with it.

Curry shouldn't be a macho scoville heat challenge. It should be flavoursome and aromatic. Too much or too hot a chilli ruins it and many other dishes but too little chilli never does as long as it's generally tasty.

Giggorata · 19/02/2026 16:15

Far, far worse than fruit in chocolate is any kind of nut in chocolate.
Absolutely disgusting and unforgivable. Nuts are savoury things.

Also, sex is binary and unchangeable.

And all the nasty fancy foreign bluebells should be eradicated, as they are crowding out and interbreeding with the old dark blue scented bluebells of the woods.

FaceEatingLeopard · 19/02/2026 16:16

Just because you can pickle something doesn't mean you should. Every menu, every dish - pickled fucking onions, cabbage, pickled this, that and the next thing spoiling everything. Go pickle your arsehole you pretentious cheffy dick!

Burgers do not belong in brioche.

hahaha I read that as "Burglars" do not belong in brioche and thought it was some fancy crimewave that I was unaware of 😂

I don't think people should breed dogs for profit. If someone's dog has a litter, I don't think they should be sold, rather given away, although I guess if someone insists on paying for the puppy that's OK.
I meant in the normal common-sense scenario of someone deciding they want a dog and going to a breeder; I think people should go to shelters instead.

If you give dogs away for free then that creates its own problems. They are much more likely to fall into the wrong hands and be used for puppy farming or as fighting dogs.

A lot of rescues are very difficult to adopt from and pet insurance can be very expensive for older dogs or dogs with unknown histories, not to mention more of a risk around children or other pets.

If you buy a puppy from a reputable breeder then you can assess temperament and train it. It will also get raised from a young age around children or pets, ergo less of a risk simply because of early exposure.

I think the weight loss jabs will cause long-term health issues for users for decades to come.

Lip fillers never look good or attractive. They are always hilarious at best, absolutely comical/scary most of the time.

I have a few friends (and family members) who've had lip fillers and you wouldn't know unless they told you!

exhaustDAD · 19/02/2026 16:17

Cross-breed dogs are the absolute best. Not only are they unique, but their immune system is (generally) stronger than a wet one-ply toilet paper in the wind - like what purebreds have. No thanks, I will not buy a purebred dog (for an excessive amount of money, mind you) with a plethora of genetic disorders thanks to selective breeding.

In which case why did they bother? As presumably you knew them before they did it.

Pregnant women should not wear dungarees.

No one over the age of 7 should wear dungarees.

Tee hee hee, I swear by them and I think they're hugely beneficial to health. More and more fabulous health benefits in the media most weeks now!

BlimeyOReillyO · 19/02/2026 16:17

That roast dinners should be swimming in gravy!

Melted mozarella is the most gag inducing molten plastic stringy shite on the planet.

All right-thinking people should carry tip-ex and a black marker to fix misplaced apostrophes in singage.

Superhansrantowindsor · 19/02/2026 16:19

American words and phrases spoil the English language and people who use them appear to be thick.

Nobody needs to walk around outside with a coffee cup.

Dry robes should only be worn by someone getting out of a body of water.

Lip fillers look weird.

Dungarees were not invented with female visits to the loo in mind, were they?

Having worked with the department in a clinic working with these - you are shaving off lots of years, and causing irreparable damage to multiple organs. Unfortunate truth. And people still go for it. Most will regret once the side effects will come knocking..

What about gardeners who want to avoid builder's bum?

GameOfJones · 19/02/2026 16:21

That biscuits, crisps, sausage rolls and other UPF, sugary food should not regularly be given to children and should be occasional rather than a daily thing.

The absolute state of most children's lunchboxes is shocking. Ham sandwiches on shit white bread, fruit winders, frubes and packets of crisps and biscuits. Those children are being set up to fail by their parents.

I presume that’s because they look natural and people who don’t know them wouldn’t know it was filler. Everyone who knows anyone well knows if they’ve had work done. You couldn’t have a hair transplant when you were previously bald without those close to you knowing.
