What would your last meal be?

Last meal/death row meal etc. Basically all your favourite things! I love threads like these and haven't seen one in a while.

Mine would be (presuming a neverending appetite, I'd probably have to space it out over the day)

Starter: Massive seafood platter (minus oysters and squid) including smoked salmon, large prawns cooked in garlic butter, smaller cooked prawns, lobster, crab and a bowl of moules marinere. Served with loads of crusty white bread, seafood cocktail sauce and tons of garlic aoili.

Main: The steak baguette I had in Toronto that I've never stopped thinking about. Medium rare, on a crusty white baguette with loads of fried onions and melted cheese. Served with a thick cut chips drowned in vinegar, creamy coleslaw and garlic mushrooms. A side of my mums mashed potato.

Dessert- I can't decide between sticky toffee pudding or a cheese board.

Washed down with a diet coke in a glass bottle and gallons of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Fish Finger Sandwich. Just lush...

There are many fabulous meals that I love, but for my last meal I’d love my Mums roast chicken with mashed potatoes she used to put copious amounts of butter and cream in them , salt, white pepper and some finely chopped scallion , her gravy was amazing and of course as it was the 1980’s I had to ruin it with baked beans ! She’s gone now and what I’d give for that meal .

Really posh caviar, Giant Madagascan prawns ,steamed lobster, loads of garlic herb butter, crispy fries, Dauphinoise potato and sweet potato and purple potato, asparagus, purple sprouting broccoli,
French and Italian cheeses, vanilla meringue cake.

Ooh, I think boston lobster rolls to start
Then rare matured fillet steak with sautéed green beans and baby potatoes
No dessert, just lots of wine (not sure they allow that on death row though! )

Spidey66 · 12/02/2026 23:54

A roast, either chicken, lamb or beef….not mad on pork.

love beef or lamb with yorkies or stuffing with chicken.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 13/02/2026 22:59

I’m so hungry

LadyCrustybread · 13/02/2026 23:09

I’m pretty sure I would have no appetite…

So, a really expensive glass of champagne, an incredibly strong whiskey on the rocks with a twist and a pack of cigarettes.

I’m tee total and an ex smoker…. But if I’m dying after why abstain?

Starter: goats cheese salad
Main: full English breakfast
Dessert: chocolate mousse
Drink: Dr Pepper

CrystalSingerFan · 13/02/2026 23:53

Ooh, nice thread.

  • half a dozen fresh oysters with the usual trimmings, except green Tabasco rather than red - works way better IMO.
  • globe artichoke with lemon and melted butter
  • grilled langoustines with lemon and melted butter (note emerging theme).
  • fresh in season spider crab with that marvellous peppery French mayonnaise
  • charcoal grilled duck breast with crisp salted skin and tender meat, like I had once in a rural French bio restaurant. Unforgettable.
  • tiny cheese course which included the best cheese in the world, Brebirousse D'Argental
  • Fresh orange souffle like one I had in France on the way back to the ferry. Best pudding EVER.
MsSmartShoes · 13/02/2026 23:55

i cannot fathom what I might have done to get me in this fix….

Drinks:
Champagne: Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque
Starter - chargrilled squid - salt, lime, chilli
Main - my dad’s roast rib of beef.
pudding - summer pudding and cream.
extras - English breakfast tea & treacle toffee

HannahMarin · 13/02/2026 23:58

Chinese and a Pepsi max, a big johns chicken pizza and an Easter egg

XenoBitch · 14/02/2026 00:06

A massive steak. Garlic buttered prawns and scallops. Loads of skin on fries, and the best coleslaw ever.

Middlemarch123 · 14/02/2026 20:49

I used to drink and smoke, haven’t for years.
So last meal would last at least three hours!

An ice cold bottle of the best Chablis, served throughout.

Starter: Mussels lightly steamed in garlic, butter and wine.
Main: The paella I had in Italy 15 years ago, seafood, king prawns, clams and saffron rice.
Pudding: Lemon Meringue pie, with vanilla ice cream.

Followed by a large glass of finest brandy and 10 Marlboro Reds.

1AnotherOne · 14/02/2026 20:55

Aperol spritz to start with a side of bread from The Dog and Pickle with their marmite butter

starter: some sort of scallop, pea and bacon thing. With a side of crab legs from Joes Seafood in Vegas

main: medium rare filet steak with creamed spinach. I’d also like a side of truffle tagliatelle from Harry’s Dolce Vita

dessert: magnolia bakery banana pudding and an amaretto sour

diet coke with loads of ice and a big wedge of orange in between

mondaytosunday · 14/02/2026 20:56

Well it would require a miracle.
My (long dead) mother’s chicken curry. Her coronation chicken, and her Christmas dinner. Her Christmas cake, her close friend’s (still alive at 93, but hasn’t made it in decades) Minitry’s Miracle (kinda like a tiramisu but 100 times better). Cabot’s ice cream sundae, but made with Brigham’s mocha almond ice cream. My late husband pepper steak. My cousin’s partners lobster. Gosh I have a weeks worth of ‘last meals on Earth’! But these are all unforgettable meals.

Fbfbfvfvv · 14/02/2026 21:14

I don’t like starters

main - roast lamb dinner, tonnes of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, sprout, roasted parsnips and lots of gravy.

dessert - a thick and heavy vanilla cheesecake and a chocolate eclair (double dessert because I don’t have starters!)

drink - full sugar red label Coca Cola and a bottle of rose wine.

1000StrawberryLollies · 14/02/2026 21:28

Drink: Taittinger champagne
Starter: bruschetta with garlic mushrooms
Main: lasagne
Dessert: dh's tarte tatin with lavender ice cream

I'm gluten-intolerant and can't really tolerate much dairy, so it would be a real treat (barring the dying part!).
