Average sized with room for bath/shower (not separate) completely refurbished
Have had 2 quotes so far - one just over £9000, the other just under £8000 for the same work.
Just wondering what people have paid recently.

Thanks, this is really helpful. Would you happen to have the link to the one you chose? We were going for marble tiles but may change to panelling

@Rosemary61 Hi sorry don't have link. My sil, s friend sourced all products I just told him what I wanted. I think it's pretty much a common enough one though so should be easy enough to find. The other side where towels are stacked I jazzed it up with brightly coloured prints. Hope you get sorted soon. So much choice out there. It can get overwhelming.

I had a new bathroom fitted last October for around £6,900, all in. Had a lovely digital shower fitted over the bath where there wasn't one before so had to have stud wall built up behind the bath. Layout otherwise the same as before. Price also included replacing floorboards where a leak had rotted through, and repair to ceiling downstairs. Decorating and skip was included. I had no idea where to start but used a trusted local plumber who advised and I used his contacts for tiles, flooring and fixtures and fittings and he did a great job in a couple of weeks. I love it. I'm in Norfolk.

Our last house, we had main bathroom and en suite done in 2020 and paid 15k for both.

New house - New main bathroom, last year, cost us 18k. Large bathroom though so lots of tiles and big walk in shower

We’ve just booked ours in to be done, complete rip out, fully tiled, new bathroom suite and shower, new waterproof ceiling, spotlights, new extractor and radiator. All in was £7.5k. We’ve gone mid range on taps, shower etc, tiles are porcelain and not ceramic. This is being done by a local fitter. B&q quoted us £9k and this was a basic suite, ceramic tiles and didn’t include ceiling or spotlights etc.

We paid £13.5k but that was to install a completely new bathroom in a room that was previously a bedroom so it involved moving pipework etc.

Mines starting tomorrow it’s just under 8k. Totally stripped back and rebranded and tiled moved about new bath shower sink and unit I had a separate toilet and the floor and the toilet are being replaced in there.

In London, £10-20k depending on spec, amount of tiling, etc.

Nearly finished doing two bathrooms ourselves, has cost us about £1200 for both. That’s new shower trays and enclosures. Complete remodel of one bathroom (including putting in false wall). PVC wall panels rather than tiles. If we’d had to replace sink and toilets I’d be looking at having spent another £300-400.

It’s cheaper to do it yourself.

Hyperfix8d · 02/02/2026 12:26

I did mine myself around 2 years ago. Cost about £3k in materials and took me two weeks. I’d say anything up to £10k for mid range finish by a trade is reasonable.

Shiresunshine · 02/02/2026 22:38

Anywhere from £7-27k. Depends on spec, size, material, plumbing or electrical work needing done.
