Are there any good non alcoholic white wines?

The only alcohol I miss is a cold glass of Sauvignon blanc on a Friday night. I could almost taste it last night.

DH went out and bought a non alcoholic version and it tasted awful.

A couple of friends on a group chat then confirmed, there are no nice ones.

Tell me it’s not true 😂 I’m hoping the world of mumsnet will have a non alcoholic white wine connoisseur ready to uplift my weekend!

Following with interest .

I'm in the same boat, and I've not yet found anything that tastes like wine, I'm afraid (I wonder why, when non-alcoholic beers have got it right?), but Nosecco is a pretty good substitute for prosecco... not the same as a lovely glass of sauvignon, though, I know!

HeadyLamarr · 31/01/2026 09:54

Kylie's rose sparkling wine isn't bad. Most are pretty awful though, I agree.

Guinness 0.0 is by far the best alcohol free thing I've found, and I didn't even drink Guinness before.

No, I have never found one. Becks Blue is good and I'm told that Guinness 0% is, too, but any alcohol-free wines I've had have been disgusting.

There may be some fizzy ones, but I don't like fizzy wine anyway-I like something very dry!

Good luck with your search-let us know if you do find one!

hby9628 · 31/01/2026 09:58

I haven’t found one I’m afraid. I do like non alcoholic lagers but I’ve not sound any decent wine or Prosecco substitutes.

shuffleofftobuffalo · 31/01/2026 09:59

I’ve never found a decent wine substitute either - I stick to lagers they’re the best tasting 0% option imo.

Teacaketravesty · 31/01/2026 10:02

Agree. Alcohol-free cider is good (Sainsbury’s own brand), and posh tonic with a fake gin, but the wine’s all vinegary.

Soontobe60 · 31/01/2026 10:03

There was an item on Radio 4 on 23rd Jan Food Show that discusses lo or no alcohol wines - it’s worth a listen. (Sorry, can’t figure out how to add a link!)

RandomMess · 31/01/2026 10:05

I haven’t found a nice one yet, there was one I managed to finish by adding soda and ice.

pinkgown · 31/01/2026 10:30

I have tried several non-alcoholic fizzy wines, the one I thought was least awful was the Frexinet Zero.
TBH if I want something other than booze I drink ginger beer - usually Fentimans.

Peanutbutterflies · 31/01/2026 10:33

I liked Kylies rose sparkling
Other option for a friday evening drink is elderflower on ice with sparkling water
Or kombucha...not really wine but something a bit different!

letshavetea · 31/01/2026 10:38

Having tried lots of different alc free wines - all awful. Try Tanqueray alc free gin with Fevertree Mediterranean tonic (lots of ice and lemon).

VikingNorthUtsire · 31/01/2026 10:39

In my experience they all taste like ribena mixed with vinegar. I treat myself to a fancy non alcoholic drink instead - kombucha is good for a more complex flavour.

mindutopia · 31/01/2026 10:42

Not really. You just need to embrace that your taste buds will change in time. I’m coming up to 3 years sober and even the smell of white wine turns my stomach.

The best I’ve found so far is the Freixenet 0.0% but that’s sparkling. The REAL Dry Dragon is not wine, it’s sparkling tea, which is really just kombucha, but it’s particularly dry and crisp. The LA Brewery Citrus Hops is also really nice. Again, it’s kombucha, it’s not wine, but it’s not like a fizzy pop either. They seem to have it at a lot of NT cafes if you want to try it.

Please not the Kylie Rose. It’s disgusting. A cross between Schloer and a cheap rose. 🤮

FcukBreastCancer · 31/01/2026 10:43

Never found one.
Zero beer is nice, otherwise I'd rather have kombucha than zero wine

Malariahilaria · 31/01/2026 10:47

I only wanted a fake wine substitute for a little while but could never find one that wasn't disgusting, which made me think that perhaps wine is disgusting and I just conditioned myself to like it to get the alcohol whilst looking socially acceptable? I now love the range of fever tree tonics with a squeeze of lime or trip drinks. Diet coke if nothing else is available at a restaurant.

Donttellempike · 31/01/2026 10:49

There’s an article in today’s Guardian on this. They are nearly all pretty expensive though

CrochetMadRosie · 31/01/2026 10:50

I tried Kylie’s white sparkling on NYE and although it was ok, to me it just tasted like schloer!

Hoping someone will add to the thread with an amazing find, but judging by the replies so far, I’m not holding out much hope!

PeacockBlue1 · 31/01/2026 10:52

I’ve given up trying to find a good zero alcohol still wine, red or white. Freixenet 0% sparking white is pretty good. Becks Blue and Guinness Zero both very good. The cans of pre-mixed Zero G&T, too.

But for a glass of something with ‘bite’ I like Mother Root. It’s a very spicy, and with sparkling water it makes a very decent drink.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 31/01/2026 10:55

Ive been drinking schweppes pink soda, very cold. It seems to do the trick.

mac111 · 31/01/2026 11:02

For anyone looking for a low option rather than a no option, M&S have a 6% Sauvignon Blanc that is reasonable. It’s called Koha.

aintnothinbutagstring · 31/01/2026 11:11

Probably best to find a good soft drink than chasing after something that that tastes like alcohol (the actual alcohol element will contribute a lot to the flavour of wine). If I'm not drinking, I'll go for TRIP or Goodrays CBD drinks, the flavours are decent and not too sweet.

TheActualQueen · 31/01/2026 11:23

Used to drink the Sainsbury’s blanc de blanc - it’s 0.5%

RandomMess · 31/01/2026 12:03

Aldi does cheap 0% gin plain & pink.
