Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

I feel sad for Brooklyn, it takes a lot to actually understand that your upbringing may not have been healthy.

That said, I’d pay good money to watch Victoria grinding up against Brooklyn during their Mother and Son dance.

The examples Brooklyn has given about the way his parents have treated him and his wife are shocking and emotionally abusive.

Im glad he’s been able to have his say today and hope he serves as a warning for all those “influences” and celebs who use their kids every single day to make money.

it’s fairly standard for the bride and groom to have their own table at US weddings, separate from the bridal party. Parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen etc have tables . either side.
Personally I think it was a lovely gesture to have the two widowed grandmothers sharing their table. .

I haven’t followed the whole Beckham saga but as someone who do work closely with these kind of families and especially the children in those environments, it does not surprise me to see more and more young adults going no contact, and as someone who spends most of her time seeing what happens behind close door, (and trying to mitigate it) all I can say is that more often than not it’s absolutely heartbreaking and no amount of money can make up for what some of these kids go through.

There are so many threads on Mumsnet of parents stressed out about not being able to afford the best for their kids but the reality is that often the best you can offer your kids is a stable loving and warm environment and I can say for certain that the richest kids often lack those important things and live in a world where warmth and care is often substituted by money and gifts.

Those kids are also not helped by the fact that people (the general public) think they know their parents and so going no contact or establishing boundaries (always hard anyway but more easily doable for the average joe) suddenly feels like fighting against
« the myth » and, as shown by this thread, not necessarily something that can done without thousands/millions having an opinion.

I feel for him, it’s hard growing up with famous parents and harder when forced to make your private matters public and having to expose yourself to the judgment of millions for doing something that would be incredibly hard for anyone (cutting off contact with family)

But it’s the freedom the pelts money gives him that has given him the freedom to see what his childhood was

i imagine if he had married an sprinting model they would have remained dependent on his parents financially and his wife would have allowed the control (through gritted teeth perhaps). But his billionaire wife doesn’t need to take her mil’s shit

‘Permission’ might be the wrong word here the Beckham’s would probably have wanted money by way of licensing fees for use of the Beckham name, maybe they also wanted to own the copyright/trademark for Nicole Beckham under the Beckham umbrella of corporations. If BB and Nicole have kids they will probably have to trademark/copyright the kids name before they announce the name of the baby to the Beckhams senior as they will probably want to monetise it. What a strange world to live in.
