How far do people commute to work?

I am considering driving to a lovely care home an hour away.
Working a 12 hour night shift once a week as a registered nurse .
Would people consider this ?
Am only interested in replies from people who work these hours with a drive to and from that takes an hour.

I used to commute daily to another country. However I lived right by the border and it took 25 minutes to drive to work. Very occasionally I would be stopped and asked for documents, or if I had shopping that needed to be declared.

My commute to the office is a minimum of an hour. When I say it’s a minimum it’s usually around one hour 10. Up to an hour and a half if roadworks or an accident.

I only have to do it once or twice a week. It’s manageable.

how often would you have to do it?

Ah I see you say once a week. Yes I would absolutely do that.

I work in an office two days per week - the commute is two hours each way, four hours a day in total. You’ve just got to do what you’ve got to do!

I worked with someone in the 2000s who commuted daily from the Isle of Wight to Central London, it was 2 - 3 hrs each way, depending on ferries and trains running properly.

I think with a job like this, you’d definitely find one closer to home- they’re crying out for staff.

I commute just over an hour each way on the train, different county. It’s exhausting, that’s all I’ll say. I feel like falling asleep most days on the way back and almost do drop off.
