DM -26 nearly 27
Me - Just 28

I am the eldest

Weird question. The more interesting answer is

my mum was 25 when I was born. I was 36 when DS1 was born. He’s 17 now, so if I’d had him at 25 he’d be 28 now - which blows my mind as it’s such a huge gap. I would be 53 yrs old with a 28 yr old son, rather than a 17 yr old.

34 but 35 9 days later.

I was 32

QueenStevie · 04/12/2025 06:18

I was the same age as my mum when she had me and the same age as my grandmother when she had my mum. I'm not saying specific age but all in our twenties and all first (or only) children. So no upward trend at all here.

Is this asking how old was your mum when she had you?

PrincessHoneysuckle · 04/12/2025 06:53

28

37 - always thought she was a really old mum when I was young! Had a baby at 37 too 🤣

Itslikesowhatever · 04/12/2025 07:30

my mum had me at 24 and I had my first at 19

My aunt was 19 when she had her first and my mum was 40 with me. I thought my aunt was so cool and glam and vowed to have a baby by 19... I was 33 😆
Aunt is now 80 and still cool and glam ❤️

My mother was 25 when she had me. I was 21 when I became a parent for the first time.

YellowCherry · 04/12/2025 07:42

My mum was 32 when she had me. I was 31 when I became a parent. I'm not her oldest child though so it's not quite comparable. Am I getting the question wrong?

Owly11 · 04/12/2025 07:43

Do you mean if you had become a parent at the same age your mother WAS when she had you? She must have actually had you so not sure why you are using the conditional tense for a concrete event in the past that has already definitely happened. My mind has gone to a parallel universe where my mother might not have had me. Very confusing op.

CryMyEyesViolet · 03/12/2025 21:42

Aka, what age was your mum when she had you?

Haha this. What a convoluted way to ask the question.

Fathippo · 04/12/2025 09:45

Onthebutton · 04/12/2025 00:09

Good effort but still 6 years closer.

My mum was 17 when she had me. I was 44 when I had my only DC.

Ah you beat me for biggest difference 😂
she was 40 I was 16

Edited

Our gap is 15 years bigger than that.

If I’d had my DS at the same age my DM had me then my now 4 year old would be 31!

mazedasamarchhare · 04/12/2025 12:03

No idea as my mum refused to acknowledge her birthdays or admit her age after 30….apparently getting older was for other folk!!

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 04/12/2025 12:45

My mum was 42, had her first at 28. I was 34, with my only. Both my sisters had theirs between 30-35 too.

howshouldibehave · 04/12/2025 12:57

What a bizarre question.

I'm not my mum's first child either so it doesn't give you much useful information.

My mum was 32 when she had me. I was 25 when I had my first child and so was she.

merryhouse · 04/12/2025 17:05

exactly 3 weeks younger ;-)

Difference was, I was my mother's fourth child. She'd been a parent almost 7 years at that point.

SeriousTissues · 04/12/2025 17:35

If I’d had my daughter at the same age my mum had me, I’d have a 30 year old instead of a 14 year old!
