For about 30 people. Also to point out that I am a lifelong vegetarian so there will be no meat or fish (very usual for my get togethers so nobody will be surprised by this). I'd like to keep as finger food.

Spanakopita
Tomatoe tart tartin
Turkish bread
Olives
Houmous
Chickpea, chard & feta puffs with green harissa (posh veggie sausage rolls basically)
Stuffed vine leaves
Spinach and artichoke dip
Labneh and pistachio
potato salad
Green tabbouleh
Tarrallini
Cheeseboard, grapes & crackers
Brownies

Do i need more main / salad... anything else. As far as I know there are no GF people as know it's quite a wheaty / grainy menu

TIA

I dont know why I clicked on this. Its never veggie and I'm veggie.

This is the best party menu I may have ever seen. Room for a little one?

SpaceOP · 01/12/2025 16:07

I did wonder if you needed another salad type thing. Then told myself to stop being a twat.

My only question would be if there's the need for something obviously Christmassy? Even if it's just mulled wine!? Grin Or a cranberry sauce alongside the cheese platters? Or a mushroom pate or something.

But that's me being very pedantic. Mostly I think it looks great!

My only OTHER question is colour - lots of food that will be brown/cream or green. The tomato tart is goign to stand out beautifully but something else with a bit of colour? A tomato salad? Or perhaps a "flavoured" hummus? Or a beetroot salad? Or something with butternut?

How about some mini vegetable samosas?

Well I'm definitely not a vegetarian but that sounds lovely OP!

Extra marks for the non-appearance of a cold pasta salad which should be made illegal

Whatwouldnanado · 01/12/2025 16:08

Sounds lovely. What is spanakopita?
How about some sort of fresh fruit alongside the brownies?

Springisintheairohyeah · 01/12/2025 16:13

Sounds absolutely fantastic and I would love to come for dinner at your house! The only thing I was going to suggest is a dessert alternative to the brownies - maybe something a bit lighter or fruity - poss pavlova, or Delia Smith does a really lovely planters punch fruit salad. Could potentially ditch something off the main course (maybe lose something pastry based, as there is quite a lot of pastry options) to accomodate

25th · 01/12/2025 16:21

Thank you - glad people like the sound of it.

Yes, maybe something a bit more Christmassy would work. Any ideas?

Mini nut roasts?

Noshowlomo · 01/12/2025 16:25

My first reaction to this was “fuck yes” so I think you’re onto a winner.

Maybe add another dessert? all sounds wonderful though (I’m veggie)

Mauro711 · 01/12/2025 16:25

Oh that sounds delicious! Also a vegetarian and this is such a refreshing menu. I can't think of anything I would miss.

AdventAnnie · 01/12/2025 16:25

It sounds lovely!

How about a salad of with little strips of beetroot and jewelled with pomegranate? That might look quite Christmassy and the pomegranate would tie nicely with the slightly Middle Eastern/eastern Mediterranean thing you have got going on.

You make it Christmassy by dredging icing sugar on the brownies and servicing gorgeous Christmassy drinks (ginger ale please!)

SpaceOP · 01/12/2025 16:27

Something with red cabbage? It hits my christmassy and colour challenges possibly?

Something with cherries which, for reasons I don't understand, I think of as Christmasy?

Mushroom pate (again, I think of pate as a very christmassy thing. Don' tknow why).

GoodQueenBess · 01/12/2025 16:28

@Whatwouldnanado , spinach pie Spanakopita Recipe (Greek Spinach Pie Tutorial) | The Mediterranean Dish

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/12/2025 16:29

I like to crumble feta over a bowl of hummus and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds. A winter slaw with red cabbage would also add some colour.

Songlines · 01/12/2025 16:30

I do a feta and fennel salad with cucumber, red onion and pomegranate seeds, so it's red, green and white - very festive colours

Westfacing · 01/12/2025 16:32

It's a great menu.

What about something sharp and sour such as dill pickles?

CabernetAndCocoMelon · 01/12/2025 16:33

What time do we arrive?

sounds lovely op!

inwoyld add a tiramisu or trifle (imaware it doesn’t follow the theme!)

SpaceOP · 01/12/2025 16:33

I just remembered the gorgeous tart I did one year but, you've already got a few pie tyupe things so you might not love this idea:

It was a roasted butternut squash and goats cheese tart. I topped it with some honey toasted walnuts and a bit of a lemon/honey/mustard dressing. Very christmassy, very delicious. But could well be a step too far for you with the delicious tarts you already have on offer.

PaulineMush · 01/12/2025 16:39

still frozen berries covered in melted white chocolate.

Yes it does involve melting the chocolate just before serving, but that doesn't take long.

mochimoons · 01/12/2025 16:41

Sounds fab! For something colourful and Christmassy how about roasted & glazed carrots, parsnips and beetroots maybe with some goats cheese and walnuts sprinkled on top!

SarahAndQuack · 01/12/2025 16:41

Delicious! When can I come?

ButWhysTheRumGone · 01/12/2025 16:43

Sounds amazing to me as a veggie.

Trushy · 01/12/2025 16:50

Sounds amazing. I feel nuts would add something, I always find nuts very satisfying and Christmassy

GoodQueenBess · 01/12/2025 17:10

I'd add a big salad to go with all the dips but it sounds great.

Raera · 01/12/2025 19:44

Salad made from beetroot (not in vinegar), blanched pear, feta and toasted walnuts?
Yummy and also colourful
Only a suggestion as it sounds amazing!
