I stayed up all night doing it- then when he opened his present and got excited I poured a lass of wine, let the place go to shit and patted myself on the back. 😅😅😅 Your way is better just wouldn’t have occurred to me!!!

edited to add it was pre me finding mumsnet and TikTok hence how I had the time😅

I like lego but I also get a lot of fun out of those wooden model sets where you pop out the pieces and slot everything together. It scratches the same itch for me.

DH has got into these - they are clockwork as well, wind with cogs to make the space shuttle orbit the earth or the elevator raise up marbles to run down the shute. There are loads of them available and they take longer than Lego so keep him engaged longer.

(I hate doing them, too faffy, and stick to Lego)

Wayland games has really good prices on Legos. I think your DH may prefer to have only 1 Christmas present if it’s going to br a Lego set.

The 'Lego' bears from TikTok shop are great. Tiny pieces, taka ages but are really solid

@Needmorelego I get that but I'd like something for him to get his teeth into and last a few days at least

He needs to MOC (My Own Creation). Build anything in his imagination out of the bricks.
One thing a lot of adult Lego fans do is whatever set you have you turn it into a Millennium Falcon !
(See picture for an example)

A friend suggested this website to me as my dp has a similar issue. Not used it yet but might be an option . It’s like a lego library https://www.brickborrow.com/plans-pricing

I had a subscription for this for a year and it was great - had to keep the one you borrowed away from other Lego but it was fab for building huge expensive sets without the cost or place to put them!

We've recently just got a new kitten 3 weeks ago, we've got 2 older cats at 11yrs old, we couldn't do the keeping separate as no spare rooms. One cat ignores kitten unless too close in kitchen, kitten ignores her, the other cat will tolerate kitten as long as he doesn't move, will go over and smell n head bump but soon as kitten moves she just lands out at him, tried to keep separate litter trays but the two just use each others, and same with the food, treats I do give separate as kitten can't have cat treats yet. Kitten is my sons and the cat is mine, cat sleeps on me n kitten is in same bed with my son, they are fine then, don't seem to bother one another because kitten isn't moving.

What’s that got to do with Lego?

shellyleppard · 29/11/2025 22:13

Lego insiders gives you money off plus loyalty points which add up. Definitely try eBay or Facebook marketplace.... lots of sets on there for a good price

Another saying eBay- I had to wash thousands of pieces in the sink and dry them without anyone seeing but it cost practically nothing!! Thinking of buying knee though- there’s some decent deals on it in our local toy shop

Milton tabs and a collapsible bucket are what I use (although my son is small so still on Megabloks.)
