In one of the bins.

Not a strange place as such but a very strange delivery. A couple of weeks ago a parcel for my daughter was shown as delivered and left in front of a door, but the photo wasn’t of our door, so I used Google street view to work out which neighbour it was, it had been left at number 44 instead of 40, so she went there but no one was in and no parcel in sight, went back later and they answered the door but hadn’t seen a parcel.

Two weeks later she’s refunded and ordered again, same delivery company tried to deliver it 2 days ago and again left it on the same neighbours front door, didn’t even knock as the neighbour was in, he saw it being left there on his door camera so he ran out after the delivery guy and said he was at the wrong address and showed him which was the correct house, again she got a notification that it was delivered showing same neighbours front door as he’d photographed it and marked it as delivered before the neighbour spotted him in the garden and gave him it back. Neighbour told her this when she went round for it, he didn’t even try to deliver it to our house despite the neighbour pointing out the correct house, just took the parcel back and drove off.

Yesterday they tried to deliver it again, didn’t even knock this time just threw it over the same neighbours fence into his back garden, neighbour very kindly brought it round to ours and explained where he’d found it, the parcel very clearly had the correct address on and both house doors are clearly numbered so why he went three times to the wrong house I have no idea.

inside the porch…..opened the front door (fair enough, it should have been locked), and left it inside

triplechoc · 21/11/2025 07:12

Nike delivery left by Evri at a building site across the road.

StarlightLady · 21/11/2025 07:16

I had a case of wine left on the doorstep, in a box which clearly identified the contents. They did not ring the bell. They were also supposed to verify that l was over 18.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/11/2025 08:22

Despite us having a porch, a box of xmas cards was stowed underneath the seat of our arbour, which is right at the back of our back garden. We assumed it hadn’t been delivered - we didn’t find the mouldering remains till a couple of years later.

SiobahnRoy · 21/11/2025 08:24

Under my car. I was home at the time. Evri obviously.

WhatICallMyUsername · 21/11/2025 08:24

The gas meter box you open with a yellow key along with two others! Obviously carries a yellow key for this purpose and I was actually quite impressed he managed to fit 3 in it!

CandyflossKid · 21/11/2025 08:27

In the kids playhouse at the bottom of the garden

countrygirl99 · 21/11/2025 08:28

In a tree house at the bottom of the garden. Very odd when there's an open shed next to the gate.

ApplesinmyPocket · 21/11/2025 08:45

Saw on my notifications that a parcel had been delivered - not in our 'safe place' (an enclosed porch - you know, where wellies and umbrellas and coats are left and to which the outer door is always unlocked in daylight hours)

After some time searching, I found the parcel. It appeared to have been hurled into the shrubbery at the edge of the drive, and was quite high up in a bush, just resting on the foliage.

WinterBerry40 · 21/11/2025 08:56

We were in , car was in the driveway , it was summer and a window was open .
Delivery man went around the side of the house leant over the gate to unlock from the other side , walked to the alongside the house to the back , walked around a meandering path , stepped over a small brook and placed it in a sunroom before retracing his steps .
We've lived here years and in that time never had a delivery person do that before .

TheNightingalesStarling · 21/11/2025 09:00

Its a toss up between...

On the BBQ during a storm warning
In the shed of an unoccupied house up the road
In our neighbours bin.

TheNightingalesStarling · 21/11/2025 09:02

And years ago... the tracking said it had been left with our Receptionist, "Linda".
That was the name of our neighbours dog, who definitely didn't sign for the parcel. (But the neighbours did have the ourselves and were confused as us!)

Seeline · 21/11/2025 09:09

We had a full size car roof box, in a massive cardboard box lobbed over our 7' high side gate. You can't see from the front what's behind the gate, so they were taking a bit of a chance. As it was it was wedged across the top of our neighbours fence and the side of our house.
We didn't know when it was being delivered and only discovered it by chance when letting the window cleaner round the back of the house.
No idea how long it had been there but it was very wet!

Sweetiedarling7 · 21/11/2025 06:36

They threw it over my 8ft rear fence and it landed up a tree. I had no idea where it was until the following autumn (arrived early summer) when the leaves fell.

I don’t know why but this has really tickled me Grin the surprise of a package appearing as the leaves fall!

TheeNotoriousPIG · 21/11/2025 09:31

If they don't make it to the parcel box in the front porch (which is ALWAYS specified under 'delivery instructions'), they usually get left by the back door (I was not impressed when they left a brand-new book there in the pouring rain, despite the back door also having a letterbox because of this problem) or in a nearby hedge.

I realise that I am very lucky, as the nearest town's Facebook page has a lot of, "Does anyone recognise this place?" because their parcels have been left anywhere but at the correct address. One also said, "Does anyone recognise this cat, and where it is?" because a cat had apparently taken a fancy to the parcel and delivery person, so featured in the 'delivered' photo.

Portakalkedi · 21/11/2025 09:37

Saw on FB the other day - 'In this cold weather don't forget to offer your Evri driver a hot drink. When they say yes, drop kick it over the fence into next door's garden, and tell them you've left it in a designated safe space' 😄

NamechangeyMcNameFace · 21/11/2025 09:40

Not sure if it was strange but certainly infuriating. I had completed the delivery instructions form to say that if I wasn't in, to leave with neighbours at numbers 1, 2 or 3 but under no circumstances were they to deliver to number 4. It was going to be fine anyway as I would be at home on the stated deliver date.

The parcel arrived one day earlier than stated, I was at work and received a message to say the parcel had been delivered and here's a picture with proof - neighbour at number 4 posing with my box like she was was on The Price is Right.

This particular neighbour is very challenging. She will open parcels and either keep things for herself and deny all knowledge, or use the contents to build up a picture of other people's lives. When challenged, she often says she has a medical condition which makes her act this way. When I got home, I went to her door and she said she hadn't received anything. When I showed her the picture, she started shouting about how someone was using AI to fake her image. Two days later, she turned up at my door with my parcel, which had been ripped open. Apparently she did not see my name on the label and assumed it was her own delivery. The parcel in question was a 12 month supply of contraceptive pills, which I order and pay for privately. She told me that she had no idea what they were and was worried I was very ill so had contacted her daughter (rather than just giving me the potentially - in her eyes - life saving medication). The daughter googled and they were then both horrified that I'd be taking poison like this to stop god's work in making babies and that married women have no right to take these pills. A few days after that, she managed to corner my DH alone to tell him that I was lying to him and going behind his back to prevent him being a father. DH and I have no secrets and this wasn't a problem other than our anger about this information being shared as gossip in this way - what if DH was abusive? I later overheard her in the post office queue telling other folk in the village about her neighbour's evil and ungodly ways - actually mentioning me by name.

I raised utter hell with yodel who were actually very contrite in their apology and said they would train their drivers on the importance of delivery note instructions.

MySilentLions · 21/11/2025 18:42

My fucking god some folk are so utterly batshit!! I hope your DH put her straight that he also did not want to be a father at that point in life either!

It was as if the tree had grown a surprise square grey fruit!

thistimelastweek · 21/11/2025 18:51

In the secure cupboard by my front door - at least that's what I was told when I queried the failure to deliver.
She was so insistent and much to my husband's amusement I actually looked for the non-existent cupboard.
Turns out it was the secure cupboard by my neighbour's front door which they explained two weeks later when they got back from holiday

mindutopia · 21/11/2025 18:57

In the hedge like a 1/4 down the road.

I ordered something that never arrived, reported it as never delivered and got a replacement.

Then like 6 months later, Dh was driving home and saw an Amazon box shoved in the hedge, stopped to see what it was and it turned out it was something he’d ordered that week. But then he looked even deeper back in the hedge and there was another one. It turns out it was the thing I ordered 6 months ago that was never received.

I was humoured that somehow this random hole in the hedge had become our designated safe place. 😂 It totally was not an obvious place, like near our house or at the end of our drive or even where they could have turned around. They must have had to carry on to our house to actually turn around, so no idea why they didn’t just deliver them to our actual house instead of a hedge on a steep hill on a narrow lane in the absolute middle of nowhere!

RedGreenNeverSeen · 21/11/2025 22:03

I once had a note saying my parcel was "in an outbuilding", it took me ages to find it because we don't have an outbuilding, it was in the (very small) BBQ...

I would report her to police as soon as she denied taking mail.
And maybe pop a deformation case against her.
Some neighbours can be handful and more.

In the cardboard recycling bag, which was then collected the next day!

I’ve had this too though fortunately DH found it before it was collected! FFS what was the driver thinking of!?
