I had a watch stolen that I received for my 21st birthday.

I had a locket from my nana, a christening bangle from my aunt and a charm bracelet my brothers bought me when i was little, all nicked by a housemates boyfriend 😞

AnchorWHAT · 19/11/2025 15:03

And the ultrasound picture of my second son, they weren't done here when ds1 was on his way and only just started when i was pregnant with number 2. Must have fallen out of my blue pregnancy note folder, i was devastated.

BeLimeTiger · 19/11/2025 15:04

I lost my childhood toy my dad brought in when I was in hospital in my 20s. He looked like a balding fluffy sock with eyes but I loved him. I think he must’ve been bundled up with the bed linen

Not a possession but a birthday party. My party (I was 10) was on a Sunday afternoon. I had an accident and broke my nose in the morning. DF took me to A&E where I remained for most of the day. This was back in the 80s when not everybody had phones, and DM wouldn’t have known the parents’ names/numbers anyway (back then we took ourselves to and from school from the age of about 6) so she couldn’t cancel. My party went ahead without me.

We came home after Bullseye while DM was clearing up. I was devastated! I’ve been through some shit in my life but it’s the one thing I can’t let go of. 😂

That is truly terrible! Scarred for life!

Talipesmum · 19/11/2025 16:35

A velvet patchwork scarf that I left on a train. I bought it from an amazing “lovely things from around the world” type huge shop in Keswick about 25 years ago. I unrolled baskets of the scarves to get the one with the exact best colour combinations. It was perfect. Had it for probably about 3 years before it got itself lost. I still think about it regularly! (At least the beautiful cushion covers I bought at the same time, as a student living in one room, are still with me now on my big grown up lady sofa in my grown up lady house!)

mismomary · 19/11/2025 16:37

A passport I had in my 20s that was full of beautiful visas. No spare pages. Lost.

Tillow4ever · 19/11/2025 16:45

A charm bracelet my Australian pen friend bought me for my 18th birthday. We had been pen friends since primary school and she sent me this gorgeous bracelet when I turned 18. A few years later I was at work, late on in my shift I spotted that it was no longer on my wrist. I walked up and down the supermarket aisles looking for it, all around my car, out a “lost” sign on the noticeboard and asked for other members of staff to look out for it for me. It was gone.

On the off chance she’s on here, if you are/were Lauren P and had an English pen friend in the 90’s please DM me!

Bringemout · 19/11/2025 16:54

Japanese tea garden polly pocket . No idea where it went.

Karatema · 19/11/2025 17:16

I had a large stuffed knitted Humpty Dumpty from my aunt when I was 10. He moved house with me and I repaired him regularly. He’d been a bit moth eaten but I still loved him (I’m 65) so I was very upset when I realised he’d left home recently. I think he’s gone to that great dustbin in the sky; there’s only DH and I at home and he swears he didn’t touch him! So it’s a mystery.

CoastalCalm · 19/11/2025 17:21

I had an old teddy bear my grandma won in a raffle when I was little as gave to me as I was her favourite - had it with me from that point on until about 4 years ago when my twatterdale terrier ate its face off , can laugh about it now but at the time I was so sad - I only ever had one grandparent and lost her when I was 15

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 19/11/2025 17:28

My mum gave me her engagement ring when she was diagnosed with cancer and her fingers swelled up. I kept it in my jewellery box, never wore it (I don't wear jewellery) and it vanished from there one day. Wasn't stolen, as far more valuable and easier to access things (including my credit card) were also in there. I thought maybe one of the kids had been playing with it, or that they'd knocked over my jewellery box and things had been spilled but I stripped out the room (and the house has subsequently been gutted and rebuilt) and it never turned up. The kids all swore blind that they hadn't had it (and they were all young teens and younger, so not really capable of selling it - and wouldn't anyway!) so it remains a mystery.

My mum died ten years ago and the ring never turned up.

DramaAlpaca · 19/11/2025 17:34

Another missing ring - DH's original wedding ring. It vanished about a year after we got married and never turned up. Nearly 35 years later we still wonder what happened to it.

Years ago, I threw out the most wonderful pair of ankle boots that fitted me perfectly. They'd split at the back and I dumped them, not realising it would've been possible to repair them. Many pairs of boots later, I still regret losing that pair.

ARoomSomewhere · 19/11/2025 17:37

A little gold heart shaped child's ring given to me by my real Fathers family. I took it off on the beach before swimming for safekeeping. It got lost. A lovely silver lighter that was stolen. A pair of earrings I've not seen since I moved here 18 years ago (they're somewhere). Mostly though. Friends and Years.

thornbury · 19/11/2025 17:40

My bunny I had from birth that I left in a Jersey hotel room when I was 11 and although my dad phoned as soon as I realised we never got him back. I'm 57 now and I'm still gutted.

Drachuughtty · 19/11/2025 17:42

As a kid I had a little penknife in the shape of a fish. Miss that knife.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 19/11/2025 17:43

I had a fling with a famous pop star in 1977 just before they were known and had a different name ( l was 19).. one morning he picked me up and took me for brunch then shopping in Sheffield and bought me a stunning gold bracelet. A good few years later a crazy mad jealous ex of mine threw it into a river while we were having an argument on a picnic day out.

letshybernatenow · 19/11/2025 17:56

A pair of lovely (I thought) faux leather trousers I wore in the 90s. They fitted perfectly and were a slightly unusual colour that by complete coincidence was a perfect match for a top I loved too. They been fairly expensive from a little shop I happened upon on a day trip so I couldn't replace them. I went to work away for a few months, leaving them in my wardrobe in the house I shared with a couple of friends. When I went to wear them when I got back the 'seat' of them was worn thin and there was a rip along the seam by the groin plus the bottom of the legs looked like they had been repeatedly trodden on at the back. They were basically beyond repair. I strongly suspected that my housemate's girlfriend had been wearing them quite a lot (she had asked to borrow them before but I said no, and she was size larger than me but shorter which would have explained the tear and the frayed hems. He denied her having borrowed them and obviously I couldn't ever prove it.

I still regret not taking them away with me for safekeeping. I probably should let it go now that I am significantly larger/older and wouldn't be able to wear them anyway!

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 19/11/2025 18:00

My grandmother's bracelet, which I inherited. Took it off to wash my hands in a ladies' toilets, got outside, realised, turned round and went back in - gone. Some fucker had pinched it in the space of about 30 seconds.

MarytheFirst · 19/11/2025 18:36

Queenage · 19/11/2025 18:37

Losing my Arket cardigan in Alicante airport 😫

beadystar · 19/11/2025 18:39

I lost a Mont Blanc pen which was a present at an old job. I realised I’d left it behind about 45 seconds after I left the room and some asshole colleague had swiped it. I also regret real silk pyjama bottoms (I’d saved up for) which went missing in a house move.

Bookaholic73 · 19/11/2025 18:39

The perfect pair of shoes. I bought them from Clark’s, and wore them til they literally fell apart.
I’ve never been able to find the same ones, and I have looked for about 7 years.
I’m still gutted.

ARoomSomewhere · 19/11/2025 18:39

Oh and my engagement ring. I'd only had it about 3m - all new and shiny so I took it off at work to wash my hands and left it on the back of the sink. Realised 10mins later but it was 'gone'. Only 4 if us worked there, and 1 of them definately took it. I was new in the job, on probation period & not confident. I wish I'd just called the Police in. It was insured but the jewellers were sniffy about it & (horribly) implied we were being fraudulent. It was an expensive ring from a posh store who had shaped & engraved my wedding ring to fit their shaped engagement ring. They did it upside down. It was all 'a sign' - I'm Divorced now.

andanotherproblem · 19/11/2025 18:43

Versace sunglasses that were stolen by someone I know. I still get angry every summer.

wizzbitt · 19/11/2025 19:01

This is probably outing but my little brother put my “had it since I was a baby” teddy bear in the skip because I wouldn’t make him a tuna sandwich. I only found out 3 days later after the skip had gone. I was 18 (he was old enough to make his own) at the time so didn’t need him to sleep but he was always somewhere in my bedroom. Even though this was 32 (yikes) years ago it still angers me. I’m pissed off with my brother again now just thinking about it 😂😡
