I learnt what the hell Cloudfare was.

I also made a chia seed and almond flour omelette.

Fair enough. I obviously gave up on the whole thing a bit soon after trying several MN and Quora pages.
On the other hand I shall probably now finish the book, which would be a good thing.

I am dependent on things working this evening (see above...job interview). It seems Zoom is being affected, so I just emailed the job to say if I'm not there it's because of Zoom not me!

Watched stuff on Prime, as I knew Amazon uses its own service. Interspersed that with absent-mindedly coming here and feeling disproportionately let down by MN's absence. Checked whether I've now got all the Christmas cake ingredients. As I know you're interested 😂 I can't find the glace cherries, but think they must still be in an unopened package, and the icing I bought is in tiny packs so I need more. My gold & silver sugar stars are fantastic, though, I'm thrilled I won't have to make any this year.

Impressively techie of you, to know that Amazon is Cloudfare immune!

(Thoughts and prayers re the glace cherries -- although in my view they are the devil's spawn) .

Played offline solitaire on my phone while on the bus.
Followed a cat around the market place going "psspsspss".

As far as I know Teams hasn't been affected.

Sunshineismyfavourite · 18/11/2025 15:41

I've been in the pub with a friend since 12 having a lovely lunch so it's all passed me by!

It wasn’t, was fine.

TenInSport · 18/11/2025 15:42

Took my slightly wonky fringe back to the hairdresser who cut it this morning and asked her to correct it, which she did and it now looks beautiful.

i probably wouldn't have bothered if I could have got on with what I was meant to be doing online, so the whole thing has kind of done me a favour!

Catpiece · 18/11/2025 15:44

Caught up with the series i’m watching on Netflix and looked at bags on the Next website (which didn’t seem to be affected) x

I sat in a pub, and read my book, and didn't realise it was even happening.

I am the most "on the internet" person you can imagine. I'm a bloody web developer! I spend more time looking at computer screens and my phone than I do looking at the rest of the world. And yet today I have a day off, and also had the last 100 pages of a spectacular 9 books series to finish, so secluded myself in a quiet pub with a beer and lunch, and completely missed the biggest internet outage in ages.

Book was bloody brilliant!

Title please!

notnorman · 18/11/2025 15:44

Is this why I couldn’t buy a heated gillet on Amazon ?

Helleofabore · 18/11/2025 15:44

Got heaps of work done. I even cooked myself lunch and learned all about resiliconing my shower recess.

It would be a bit forward of me to suggest to the interview panel that they use Teams. I am sure they will suggest an alternative platform if they think they need to.

Sort of wondering whether you might be the person whose job it is to crank the lever that keeps Cloudfare turning over, and that if you hadn't gone all analogue in the pub with beer and books we wouldn't be in this sorry mess.

Edit: Ok so I've just realised that it is Cloudflare not Cloudfare which might have given away a stupendous tech ignorance that was otherwise well hiddenGrin

I don't know what you mean, but when a PP said their Zoom didn't work, I looked it up and it has been reported that it was affected.

I had lunch and watched some YouTube.

Title please!

It was "The Expanse" series. Scifi, so spaceships and aliens and things, but properly grounded and with really good characters (both things that sci-fi often lacks). First book is Leviathan Wakes, if that's your kind of thing.

Haha, not that analogue, it's been about a decade since I read a book made out of paper rather than wires and electrical impulses.

The beer is still real and tangible though.

Thanks! I’m so nosy about what people are reading.

It's still got problems!! Some things go up and then go down again!

That's men for you Grin

Watched Netflix without scrolling at the same time. Felt weird.

Zoom may well have been affected, I don’t use it. A PP had said about Teams not being down, I was confirming it wasn’t.

Grin I know, it is a bit weird. It's a habit that began with my low-carbing days and I have tweaked the recipe so many times that it is a bit of a Frankenstein affair.

I ended up reading the Daily Fail and purchasing two pair of Skechers!

I thought it was a solar flare which would give us more daylight.
