How’s your morning going?
for context I’m white irish 😂
Poor love was upset that I wasn’t driving through the oncoming traffic at one of those width restrictors where we did not have priority. Thoughts and prayers for his blood pressure.

I, too, had a satisfying moment with an angry middle aged man. The absolute bellend had been up my arse, flashing his lights, and gesturing angrily the whole way through the 40mph section of a major A road, only to narrowly miss an oncoming car when he overtook on a blind bend. I stopped to pick up my friend, then spotted him at the side of the road about half a mile further on, looking sadly at his car, which was bonnet down in a muddy ditch with the back wheels in the air. We did the decent thing and stopped - he was absolutely fine, just shaken and waiting for them to come and remove his car - but it was so satisfying!

Ive had this this afternoon and im still pretty shaken up. Asda car park. Park up next to another car. Dont notice that hes parked right over the line. Im easily 4 inches inside my line.

I come back 15 mins later to a tirade of abuse - he cant grt in his car; his disabled wife is waiting for him on a streetcorner; ITS ALL MY FAULT; im a terrible parker; i was in the back of the queue when got handed brains out - there was no let up. I told him that his parking standards needed to improve.

As i was putting my shopping in the xar i turned and said to him that if my husband was there theb theres no way he would speak to me like that. He replied that if my husband was there then he would punch him to the ground.

At that point i made as if to go back into the store but some passers by intervened and said it would be better yo get in my car and drive away.

I drove off, parked up elsewhere and went back in to see security and customer services. Ive spoken to my husband (works for police) and he says to let it drop. Im still temped to report to 101.

This gives me hope that there is karmic justice out there 😁. I don’t want these fools to hurt themselves or anyone else but I do want them to be enormously inconvenienced and humiliated.

I once got road raged by a van driver. I’m a nurse that was delivering some medicine to a patient at their home. He pursued me to a patients house that was dying. I had to run into their house.

I think I met Wendy last week. She was putting her few bits of shopping into a bag in the back of her car with the door open and blocking the vacant space next to her. It was a very small car park (one of those tiny Tesco local ones) and there wasn't a single other free space other than the one she was blocking with her open car door.

I wasn't in a rush so I just sat and waited for her to finish. I didn't, rev, honk or do anything to antagonist her but when she registered me sitting there she stopped, glared at me and then went back to putting her shopping away verrrryyy slowly. When she eventually finished, she shuts her car door, glared at me again and then gave me the finger. I had done absolutely nothing to annoy her. I didn't even want her space but the one next to it.

Weird woman.

There’s a lot of it about

I was cut up as I exited a roundabout. Unfortunately for him, he damaged his tyre by hitting the curb as he doesn’t drive as well as he thinks he does and couldn’t get quickly enough past me. He cut me up a bit further down the road and was hugely abusive, screaming and yelling at me, punching the car etc. He’d totally lost control. I was on the phone to the police and when he realised that they were on their way, it was like someone let the air out of him and he drove off quickly on the damaged tyre. I happened to drive past him half a mile down the road by the side of the road looking very sorry for himself, presumably waiting for someone to come out and mend the car that he’d broken by driving like a complete dick.

Nobumsonthetable · 06/11/2025 19:52

It’s extraordinary the levels of anger out there. I’m guilty of huffing and puffing and ‘ah come on you could drive a bus through that gap’ but to MYSELF inside the car! Not leaning on the horn and shouting expletives! I always wonder what these —men— people are like at home, are they all, oh my god you would not believe the stupid woman driver I saw today? Like their behaviour is beyond reproach?

My favourite one was when I used to go cycling.
A male driver cut across me on a corner, then shouted "no wonder you wear that fucking crash helmet"

Often received insults from men when cycling alone but never when I was cycling with DH.
Strange that, innit?

Some idiot in a tesla threatened to smash my face in because he overtook me on a corner, came across temporary traffic lights, with cars coming towards him, and had to swerve in right in front of me, hitting the kerb. Obviously this was all totally my fault and nothing at all to do with his shitty driving.

NormasArse · 06/11/2025 20:08

My friend had been involved in a rta (not her fault) and was sitting at the side of the road waiting for the ambulance.

Someone passed in their car, wound the window down and shouted, “Learn to drive- fucking Paki”

I don’t think I’d ever quite appreciated the level of racist vitriol she has to endure prior to that incident.

Awful, sticks in your mind doesn't it?
I was once cycling past a pub with people sitting outside.
At one of the tables, there was a black lady with a white man.
Someone in a car slowed right down and shouted "n..... lover"
They just ignored and carried on drinking, talking.

I couldn't believe it. 30 years ago and I've never forgotten. Obviously much worse for the couple sitting enjoying a drink.

I suppose this must happen a lot but I'd never seen it before. So sad.

This brings me so much joy

You were doing 90 mph? You may have a little letter through your door any time soon. If that was the 2 lane part of the A1 it is so dangerous. No kudos from me.

ivyleafgeranium · 06/11/2025 20:59

On the way to work I got stuck in a traffic jam. No idea what was happening but just complete standstill on our side of the road. The car immediately behind was beeping ( no one could move) and the driver was going redder and redder. Then he decided to do a three point turn, shot across the road, mounted the pavement and hit a lamp post. Obviously we are all laughing and he lost it even more, reversed wildly and hit another one! Couldn’t believe you could do it twice! Made the day of everyone in the queue judging from all the grinning!

LilyCanna · 06/11/2025 08:05

Glad you’re not shaken up by it, but it might be a different story for the next person he shouts racist abuse at who would quite likely be non-white 😢

Agree. It's not funny, not having a go as laughing is an understandable reaction to manage someone being a twat but it's really not. It's on the rise.

Diydanny · 06/11/2025 23:38

TheaBrandt1 · 06/11/2025 09:05

I was called a f ing bitch for not being able to park my car in an awkward space. I gave him the space. He couldn’t park in it either. Oh how I laughed as he sped off in a haze of exhaust fumes and testosterone

Nice one!!! 😂😂😂

StrongLikeMamma · 07/11/2025 00:02

Nobumsonthetable · 06/11/2025 08:09

@LilyCanna yes that is a very fair point. TBF I’ve had my share of being called Paddy, Mick, people imitating my accent etc so I'm not totally unaware sadly.
I assume they are jealous of me 😁

How on could he tell you were Irish?

spoonbillstretford · 07/11/2025 00:12

I got a load of abuse one time as I beeped my horn in the cul de sac where I live after waiting a couple of minutes for a car in front of me to shift who was blocking the road, when there was space to pull in to one side. He did pull in, but then came the shouting and gesticulation. Cheery wave was my response as I drove on my way. Fuck knows how long he was planning to block the road for otherwise. And imagine that scenario the other way round, if I had the temerity to block the highway and hold them up for a moment.

Nobumsonthetable · 07/11/2025 00:54

@StrongLikeMammanot this guy, I’m making the point that I have also been on the receiving end of racism. I’m making light of my experience today as a way of dealing with it, not because I think calling someone a P* is funny.

I was shouted at recently by a British legion member in Tesco. He had left his fund raising table and was absolutely furious that I had dared to lift a poppy keyring.I had a tenner in my hand and poppy keyring and poppy in the other. He shouted at me from about 50 foot away and continued to shout along the lines of you can't just lift things.I handed it back to him, tenner back in my purse and left but it was very upsetting particularly because he made such a scene.
Maybe it's a male thing but I can't believe charities put such charmless people into those positions.

VanilleFraise · 07/11/2025 09:44

@Chattanoogachoo id be complaining to thr british legion about that one. Absolutely no need.

SinnerBoy · 07/11/2025 11:46

These knackers aren't very bright and I think they just shout the first nasty thing which pops into their minds. About 20 years ago, there was a young man hurtling down a narrow pavement, on a slope. I shrank against the wall, but he still bounced me off it and himself onto the road - light traffic, fortunately.

I shouted, "Fucking idiot!" and he replied, "Ya fucking Bl**k bastard!"

I'm white. Obviously all my fault for not teleporting out of his way.

Ok sorry that wasn’t clear.

It’s literally in your OP 🤷🏻‍♀️

TheatricalLife · 07/11/2025 12:31

I had similar this morning when I was stuck very temporarily (literally 2 mins or less) behind a tractor. Couldn't overtake due to steady oncoming traffic and was waiting for a gap. Van behind weaving about up my arse, even though there was absolutely no possible way he could ever over take without causing a head on collision. Gap came, I overtook and carried on driving with him waving his fist. Left him behind and I assume he was in a speed limited van as I was doing the 60mph speed limit. I had to laugh as his ridiculous anger at literally nothing. Other than teleport, there was no other option to what I did. Oh well, people are odd.

Bobiverse · 07/11/2025 12:32

StrongLikeMamma · 07/11/2025 12:18

Ok sorry that wasn’t clear.

It absolutely was. She was just joining in the chat about various things people have been called, as the chat has evolved since the OP where she was called something very different.

It’s quite rude to tell someone they are unclear or at fault when it’s actually just you who didn’t understand. Take the responsibility of that instead of blaming other people. See it all the time on here; an OP is perfectly clear, one person doesn’t understand and then they come back and blame the OP for not being clear. Just no.
