Running leggings. Where do you get yours?

I’m just starting out and need some leggings. I’m just going to wear a normal t shirt. Not sure if I’ll need a jumper too as it’s going to be in the evenings and it’s getting colder and wetter.

where do you buy your leggings from? I don’t want anything too expensive just in case I don’t keep it up 😬

I buy from Decathlon, anywhere between £7-27 for a pair but they have POCKETS!!

GettingFestiveNow · 03/11/2025 20:18

I don't wear leggings but I buy running trousers from Decathlon.

QuaintPanda · 03/11/2025 20:19

Lidl. Most have pockets and they keep their shape better than my expensive branded pair.

We don’t have a Lidl near us but will look next time I go past one!

Do the pockets in decathlon hold a phone securely?

Do they give awful camel toe? I don’t think I have any t shirts long enough to cover. Maybe I need to buy a running top 😬

The tesco ones are good - mine have 2 phone pockets.

Decathlon ones hold my IPhone 16 Pro very well, it doesn’t stick out the top or move even when fasted pace running.

No camel toe in my experience.

@NoelFaraday £50 for 1 pair of leggings is ridiculous

M&S good move range are very reasonable.
don't wear a cotton tshirt, you need technical fabric and it’s getting to that time of year where you’re likely to need long sleeves and a waterproof jacket (keeps the wind chill off if nothing else).

cupfinalchaos · 03/11/2025 20:37

Lululemon

Foxybyname · 03/11/2025 20:38

Sweaty Betty - the zero gravity ones. Side pocket for phone, small zipped pocket for key!

Check Vinted. I've had 2 pairs from there - new with labels at less than half price!

Thanks I’ve found a thermal lined long sleeved running top which I might go for. Rain jacket will be a good option but adding to the expense. I guess if I’ve paid enough I can’t give it up!

I get some of my leggings from charity shops. Lots of people take up a fitness kick and then dont carry on . I’ve bought some brand new good makes for £2-3 . I run in a cotton T-shirt too and at this time of year a fleece from M&S on top . It’s trainers you need to spend money on they’re the most important item.

harryhole · 03/11/2025 20:48

M&S Goodmove range. It's really good.

MiddleAgedDread · 03/11/2025 20:50

Try these for jackets, excellent value (filter by Higher State brand) https://www.sportsshoes.com/products/womens/clothing/jackets

thenightsky · 03/11/2025 20:53

Charity shops or tkmaxx. Tops... don't wear cotton tees. I got awful bleeding armpits from them.

CoffeeAndCakeBringMeJoy · 03/11/2025 20:55

Another recommendation for M&S Goodmove here, they’re brilliant and reasonably priced.

I have some Sweaty Betty zero gravity ones which DH bought for me as a present, they’re also fantastic, but much more expensive than M&S.

FullOfMomsense · 03/11/2025 20:56

Halara, gymshark and sweaty Betty for tight leggings, BAM for everything else

FootyMcFooty · 03/11/2025 20:58

Matalan are good starter leggings. Had some last a few years now.

Merrilydancing · 03/11/2025 20:58

Nike but I stay near an outlet. Do get a proper running t shirt as the extra expense is really worth it as they are designed for sweat and a god send in the rain.

I got a cheap running jacket from decathlon which I hardly wear unless it’s raining really heavily as usually my t shirt does the trick and I live in rain swept Scotland.

homehaircut · 03/11/2025 21:00

H&M Soft Move range, lovely quality

TheChosenTwo · 03/11/2025 21:03

I’m loyal to the sweaty Betty power ones, they’re just the best imo and don’t budge a cm when on. Phone pocket that’s really snug and a key pocket.
They're pricey but I’d spent so much in the past on really just crappy ones that fell down and needed constant hoiking up all the way through the run I’d had enough. I now have about 5 pairs that I use for going to the gym, I don’t run anymore (too many injuries 🥴, found some more fun alternatives that I prefer anyway).
I used to start off with long sleeves and then dump the long sleeves in a bush at my friends front garden 😂 she’s a couple of miles away so it was a good warm up and I’d message her when I got back - she’s a good woman, would go and bag it up for me and every couple of weeks when I saw her she’d hand me back a bag of bush clothes!!
