Can anyone help me find a pretty odd and specific Christmas present?

A bic pickle lighter (don't ask)

But its the only thing my Autistic son has actually asked for after me asking him 100 times.

They are just normal bic lighters, with a pickle on them. They are on OnBuy but shipping and customs comes to £151 🤣🤣🤣

Can anyone help at all?

I’ve seen these at both the Lakenheath and Mildenhall base shoppettes. It might be worth joining USAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath facebook groups to ask if someone could get you one.

Amazon have them

OP I have a feeling that the pickle is actually a cover that slips over a bic lighter. I know that doesn't help your problem but in the future he might fancy a dragon or a silver case. My mum had a silver case back in the day.

Check if any Mumsnetters are traveling from the states and see if they can pick you up a pack?

Blessedbethefruitz · 29/10/2025 07:27

Yes @PickleLighter back in stock at amazon, though £25 is a tough pill to swallow for 4 lighters!!

OP you’ve asked a 100 times what he wants for Christmas already and it’s not even Halloween yet? Are you on a usual deadline for Christmas- like you are having a fake Christmas end of November or something similar? If not, this is a bit obsessive/odd to have asked so much and expect to have a list now.

Perhaps see if closer to Christmas when there’s gift guides and adverts, your DS might see something else he likes the look of. It’s a lot of pressure to have your “list” locked in several months in advance.

Or maybe OP is well versed in her son asking for obscure, difficult to get items, and wants to give herself plenty of time to get sorted.

how OP sorts Christmas gifts is literally nothing to do with you but I’m sure she appreciates your opinion 🙄

They’re on Amazon - £25.80 for 6 with free delivery.

I'm seeing them on Amazon UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/BIC-Special-Pickle-Lighters-Set/dp/B0747SDLK9

OP get online and see they’re back on Amazon! 😂 I’m well invested now, I woke up thinking about these after trying to find them yesterday from this thread and naively assuming I could forget about the existence of pickle lighters.

Crunchymum · 29/10/2025 08:17

Tell us when you've ordered them on Amazon @PickleLighter

I'm invested too 😁

PickleLighter · 29/10/2025 08:25

Got them from amazon UK! Thanks! I've been checking on there and they haven't been in stock upto now!

For the person saying I'm obsessive etc... of course i haven't actually asked 100 times. But DS likes obscure things and a lot of things that come from Japan, so I've already ordered several things now that may not even make it here for Xmas because of late release dates and long shipping times.

Every year he puts me onto these little goose chases (which I do actually enjoy)

Plus I have been quite ill this year and have made it my mission to have everything here and wrapped as early as possible so I can relax in December and just eat chocolate and watch Christmas films.

So I suppose it is quite early to be asking for gift requests but there are reasons for that.

Thanks again to the people that pointed out they were back in stock in the UK.
Ridiculous for 6 bic lighters but cheapest I've seen!

Yay! I got all anxious that you woiuldn't spot the links before they sold out.
40 mins ago I had never heard of pickle lighters, now I am anxious about their scarcity. Might stock up. This is how a panic buying craze startsGrin
