Inspired by a post on the Dull Men's Club, how far have you been North, South, East and West?

In my home country (UK):

  • North: Dundee
  • South: Land's End
  • East: Great Yarmouth
  • West: Giants Causeway

In the world:

  • North: Gullfoss waterfall, Iceland
  • South: Johannesburg, South Africa
  • East: Las Vegas airport, USA
  • West: Shanghai, China

South - Lizard Point (also Lands End but again it’s further south than that)

I had to look this up and was surprised by some of them!

UK
North: John o Groats
South: Lizard Point
East: Dover
West: Iona

World:
North: Alesund, Norway (shocked it’s further North than Alaska!)
South: Singapore (close run with the specific island we stayed on in the Maldives)
East: Also Singapore
West: Glacier Bay National Park….

we have Denali and Kenai Fjords booked for next year which should stretch us West!

I didn't realise Lizard was further south than Land's End. And I'm quite embarrassed at how many places on this thread I've had to Google! It turns out that Ullapool is in Scotland, not Mongolia...

In the British Isles I’ve been to Dundee, Pwllheli, Southend and The Minquiers (a landmass south of Jersey). Replace The Minquiers with Lands End if it’s got to be UK.

In the world, Iceland, San Francisco, Cape Town and Bali.
