I got 99 sleep score last night. What was yours?

My sleep score was 99 last night.

The night before it was 93. This is unheard of. Literally nothing is different to when I'm usually getting 70s or 80s.

Has anyone got 100 before? I wonder what small thing was missing for the extra point.

I always wonder about these things too. I have had two different smart (ish) watches - both Xiaomi ones, one was a Miband 4 which always told me I had terrible sleep and would chastise me about it constantly, then DH saw some other smart watches on offer so bought us one each and that had a completely different take and thought my sleep was much better, though it did say my sleep animal was a Koala - "Nocturnal and awake at night, sleeps very little, but once they are asleep it's hard to wake them" - which made me laugh because it does actually describe me.

DH got something like "Shark - terrible, disrupted sleep and sometimes sleeps while swimming". Which is pretty much what his doctor said when he did a sleep study.

The MiBand was constantly telling me I'd had either less than 20 mins deep sleep or about 45-60 mins max.

Deep sleep only needs to be around 10% to 20% of your total sleep time, so don’t worry if you’re not getting hours and hours of it!

I got 81 last night, surprising really as I was up quite late.

75 last night… usually averaging 90ish

Mine was 85 - that's very good for me. I slept for 8 hours, again very unusual. My goal is 6.5 hours and I rarely make it.

The sleep scores make no sense though. Yesterday I got 81% for sleeping 5h54!

Last night wasn't so good but tbf I didn't get into bed until half one and I had been doing shots and talking about aliens with some filmmakers so that's bound to disturb my sleep Grin

I got a 75 last night, fair quality and 6hrs 30 time. Interesting comment above about how the scores are actually calculated. I didn’t fall asleep til after midnight last night which is unusual for me - I wonder if that impacts the score?

95 last night.

Fitbit calculates a third of the score based on alignment with your target sleep hours so I picked up a lot of points from falling asleep and waking up when I said I would.

A further third, is based on amount of deep and rem sleep, and the last third on restoration (heart rate during sleep). I have improved the latter a lot lately, by doing just 5 minutes of the physiological sigh before bed, which reduces heart rate.

My sleep scores since the op have been:

99, 58, 80, 95, 90, 92 and 98

Another really high score last night, so I'm expecting a low score tonight.

It's half term next week tho, so I'm expecting consistency to score low

  1. I had 100 a few weeks ago! It's from a Fitbit, I didn't realise it was partly calculated from what you tell it @Sunflower2461

That's interesting-I had no idea I told my fitbit that info-is it in settings?
Mine is def off kilter 😴

Yes it does seem a bit odd. I think the research does suggest though that consistent timing is one of the most important factors in sleep heath so maybe this is what it is trying to measure.
