I’ve only just realised that Claudia wears a wig

Watching the traitors and her hair is not real.. cue everyone saying differently but it doesn’t even look like hair at this stage. It’s stiff, sticky and doesn’t move like normal hair..

It’s not a wig is it? Is this true?

No of course it’s not.

She was recruited for H&S after she said in an interview she uses it , years ago.

But she may have a topper as well, now. Or perhaps use a wig for specific occasions like fannying about in Scotland, looking dramatic. May be easier than styling her own in those circumstances.

I know her hairdresser and it's defnot a wig, it's product and straightened to give the shine, she's on tv so her hair has to be as perfect as possible and of course she's Bern on hair care adverts so the company would be sued if it was a wig.

nettie434 · 16/10/2025 23:49

I love the way Claudia looks. As others have said, she has a very distinctive style and I am sure this has helped her career. She is actually one of the highest paid women at the BBC.

I'm not sure that she does wear a wig. I think she is just lucky with her hair.

I didn't know about her royal connections until I read this thread so that's a new aspect to her life for me, although I assume she is not downing a G&T every night with Camilla.

I’ve never ever heard/read that her hair is wig.
She does the Head and Shoulders advert - they wouldn’t get someone with a wig to promote shampoo

Doubt she actually uses h&s though. There's a few grand a year on that hair if its real

PixelatedLunchbox · 17/10/2025 00:06

I sat near her on the plane up to Inverness for filming in April.

It’s not a wig.

On the plane her hair was thick and full but not as smoothed out as on the show. No way could she shove that amount of hair under a wig.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 17/10/2025 07:59

I really enjoyed watching her last night. I did look more closely at her hair, and it behaved just like hair does… extremely well cared for hair, of course.

It’s an amazing look- instantly recognisable even by face challenged people like me. I love the contrast between the nude lips, the very pale pink lips and then the occasional bold red. Always matt though.

She’s a great presenter- I like her asides to the camera in Traitors, it feels like she’s on the sofa with us.

Rumpledandcrumpled · 17/10/2025 08:45

Yes I looked more closely last night too, it is clear it’s not a wig, and she has fantastic hair. Lucky her.

I just don’t get why some women want to bring other women down, and that’s exactly what this was. Trying to bring her down.

Ihatetomatoes · 17/10/2025 09:52

@Allthegoodhorses

Since she wears wigs? Why is she fronting Head and Shoulders anti dandruff shampoo advertising campaign 🤔 that seems wrong if its a wig

This is what I wondered, she advertises anti dandruff shampoo!

I've got no opinion on whether Claudua wears a wig or not. But I don't think it's an insult to wonder if someone is wearing a wig. What would the big deal be if she does? Shampoo commercial aside.

I think if somebody is on TV it's fair to wonder because use of wigs and hair pieces is much more normalised now. As I said before Davina McCall's partner shows how he uses wigs and hair pieces to create her masked singer looks, and sometimes it's just easier and quicker to use a wig than somebody's natural hair to create a look.

But it’s clearly not a wig and the op was derogatory about it saying it didn’t look like natural hair.

Indeed. It'd be more honest to just admit to being a bitch and hankering to slag someone off with other like-minded bitches.

ThatCyanCat · 17/10/2025 10:47

Honestly, I'd briefly wondered if it was a wig because it was just so perfectly jet black and very shaped. I didn't think it was, but it crossed my mind.

I wouldn't have been bothered if it had been. She looks fantastic and she's got a great aesthetic going on; she's essentially in costume and wigs are often part of that. It's the same way I wonder what clothes she's wearing and whether I could get away with wearing any of them (easy "no" answer there, but you do briefly wonder!).

Why are people discussing Claudia’s looks? I thought we all love her for her wit and charm.

I do remember her saying never looking in the mirror or not having mirrors at home on a programme so I think a lot of what she looks like is in the hands of professionals and she genuinely doesn’t care much.

Edited

Yes, her mother said she wanted Claudia to focus on other stuff. Worked well imo. People shouldn't tear her down, she's funny and by accounts nice as well.

I actually get my hair cut at the same place she goes to and I can confirm, it is real hair, no wig.

Anjo2011 · 19/10/2025 15:53

@stickystick no wig but looks like extensions/ hair pieces?

EdithCavell · 19/10/2025 17:51

According to Richard Osman in an episode of the podcast "The Rest is Entertainment", the use of hairpieces/wigs/toppers/helper hair is pretty widespread in the TV world, even for the those celebrities who do have a fine head of hair. It makes things generally quicker and easier, e.g. for continuity. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Claudia wears one, if for no other reason than she seems like the type who'd want to make life easier for her colleagues in hair and makeup!
In the Traitors she's outside in the wind and rain a lot, which could play havoc with her hair styles, and the hair and makeup team is probably not huge, so it could be just more practical to use hairpieces.

ThatCyanCat · 19/10/2025 18:01

I have naturally very thick and long hair and I have a few hairpieces for certain styles. It doesn't look unnatural (nobody has ever twigged, the colour match is brilliant, although they sometimes ask me to show them how to do it) but the amount of hair you'd actually need to get these looks is crazy.

stickystick · 19/10/2025 19:18

Hanschristiananderson · 19/10/2025 10:29

There’s not much to say, except that when she’s having her hair cut it looks just like it does on TV!

It is a salon quite near Broadcasting House so gets a few celebs.

Picklepucklebuckle · 15/10/2025 22:09

all those crying “but what about head and shoulders?!”. You do realise that celebrities often don’t use the product they’re promoting? Do you think Kevin bacon is really on EE for example? They paid her to do a job, not religiously use their shampoo

Wrong. You can’t say you use a product if you don’t. Not legal

I'd imagine it's impossible to prove in a lot of cases, though.
