I’ve only just realised that Claudia wears a wig

Watching the traitors and her hair is not real.. cue everyone saying differently but it doesn’t even look like hair at this stage. It’s stiff, sticky and doesn’t move like normal hair..

I have Claudia hair although mine is my natural colour (dark brown).

BeforetheFlood · 16/10/2025 09:49

I'm sceptical about the Head and Shoulders usage because if famously strips dye (if you have a dye disaster the advice is to use H&S to rectify it) and there's no way her hair is naturally that colour in her 50s!

I think her heavily stylised signature look is a stroke of genius. It gives her a shield to hide behind, deflects attention from the usual harsh media scrutiny on women about how she's ageing/whether she's put on a pound or two/if she's looking 'tired' etc, and is a strong, instantly recognisable brand. It's a costume she puts on for her professional role.

She's an incredibly smart and impressive woman. (Smart in all senses of the word.)

There was one part last night when they were in the breakfast room reeling from Tom’s demise and she walked in with her chunky shoes and tartan trews and I said to my husband that her hair looked like a wig. It was only that particular bit though. Just didn’t move, looked too black, had a weird kink at the back and looked really wig-like. Later at the round table she had her hair up and that was obviously her own which isn’t quite as black IMO. Maybe her roots were showing too much in the morning so a wig was used? There’s no way she hasn’t got greys at her age so the upkeep on that dark hair must be a lot! And I’m not bashing the woman, just making an observation (saw the thread title and had to have a peek!)

Can be gene dependent!

My white British grandma had such black hair that growing up, I always thought she had a very poor box dye job.

Now at 62 I have naturally black hair that looks like that same poor box dye job! No one every believes my hair is natural,

The only ads I've ever seen that wanted people that actually were/had the thing advertised were for MacMillan and other charities. You are also mostly a volunteer for these ads.

nicepotoftea · 16/10/2025 09:53

She might well wear a wig or additional hair pieces when appearing on TV.

Davina McCall's hairdresser partner usually posts a video showing how he has styled her hair for the Masked Singer, and she often wears additional bits of hair and wigs.

Do people on here also believe that Holly Willoughby dyes her hair from a box too? She must do! She advertises Garnier Nutrisse!
They would never lie 🤣

George Clooney definitely doesn't drink Nespresso coffee either, common knowledge that the only one he'll go near is a jar of Mellow Birds instant.

u3ername · 16/10/2025 10:01

Why are people discussing Claudia’s looks? I thought we all love her for her wit and charm.

I do remember her saying never looking in the mirror or not having mirrors at home on a programme so I think a lot of what she looks like is in the hands of professionals and she genuinely doesn’t care much.

TabithaMerlot · 16/10/2025 10:01

Look how lovely her hair looked when it was this colour. The jet black look isn't nearly as nice as this:

drspouse · 16/10/2025 10:19

In her book she says "cut the fringe all the way to the ears, then cut some more".
If she ever wants to go incognito, she should grow out the bob and go curly. I think she'd look fabulous curly (and it's not good for wavy hair to keep straightening it).

Oh the sweet naïveté of some posters….

Oooohhhh! I'm intrigued! What do you know that some of us don't? Go on, go on , go on! 😊

Absolutely - she's starting to look like Noel Fielding with the ultra-black hair. I don't think it's a wig - her mum Eve Pollard (former newspaper supplement editor) has thick hair - but I do think they put so much product in it that it looks wig-like!

WolfieMuma · 16/10/2025 10:57

I’m not sure about Claudia, but my hairdresser told me that almost all women over 40 who have long hair or big/thick hair, are wearing extensions or clipped in hair pieces.

I honestly had no idea

I’m 56 with long ‘big’ hair and don’t have extensions. I have really a lot of medium thickness hair that takes ages to dry and grows mega quick. It’s super shiny and I have it cut every 7 weeks.

I agree, but @MNHQ doesn't exist.
🤣

Or even a blushing smile emoji like this 😊, It would be hard to be passive aggressive with this emoji.

She’s Jewish, lots of Jewish ladies wear wigs. I’m Catholic but I can see a lot of pluses. You never have to meet your hairdresser and do chit chat for a start. Plus a nice warm head without a hat.

I think some orthodox Jewish ladies shave their heads and wear wigs of nice straight bobs. I don’t think this applies to Claudia!

I think it was this moment that made me think it was a wig. It just didn't look like real hair.

I'm similar. I am 55 with shoulder length thick curly hair. It's big too! Going grey now of course but I definitely do not have extensions or add any hair pieces.

Surely only classic Head & Shoulders strips hair? They have a big range, including for coloured hair.

DrowningInSyrup · 16/10/2025 12:49

Another one for no wig. Head and shoulders using a wig to advertise it's shampoo just wouldn't happen. Meghan Markle didn't use a pillow either whilst we're on it.

Plinkyplankplonk · 16/10/2025 15:57

As a full time wig wearer myself, no it isnt 😂

DBD1975 · 16/10/2025 16:12

Really, you mean she actually wants her hair, specifically her fringe, to look like that! 😂

Rumpledandcrumpled · 16/10/2025 16:17

That’s not a wig and there is no way she’s be advertising a hair shampoo if it was, there is huge standards now. And head and shoulders is for dandruff too.

it doesn’t even look like a wig, for someone who claims to love her you seem very derogatory about her appearance.

i abhor when women attack other women and make shit up about their appearance to bring them down. Abhorr it.

Rumpledandcrumpled · 16/10/2025 16:20

Bloozie · 16/10/2025 09:39

It's perfectly possible that she uses Head & Shoulders for her natural hair, AND wears a wig.

I also think the colour of her skin is perfectly ridiculous/as bad as Trump's.

I love her though.

Sure but in the adverts it would be her own hair; and I’m one hundred percent sure it is in the show too

but who cares either way. I can’t imagine starting a thread to say this about a woman.

of all the things not in the spirit this must be it.

I have a lovely friend who wears a wig and her hair is literally the same. It doesn’t move, doesn’t have fly aways, doesn’t fluff..

Claudia had loads of flyaway hairs last night. So noticeable I commented on it at the time… I wanted to smooth them down so much!
