Each to their own but the consensus advice is don't do it if you're feeling under the weather.
I had the jab last year - and I am in no way anti-vacs but, well, I wasn't tip top. But not actually ill. I'd cycled a good few miles the day before, after work, maybe 10 miles in total so obv not ill but as you get older it's easier to push through something not being right and ignore it.
Had jab, felt fine, went home and had a few classes of Malbec. Dumb.
As I had maybe 10 years earlier when I had the flu jab, I got a sort of flu-induced tinnitus and I'm still not over it since last year, not totally but it's controllable with lots of drinking water, maybe a paracetamol, that kind of thing. For some months of the year I felt rough as, but it just seemed like some kind of malaise, I did test for Covid but it came up negative.
In fact, I'm not sure I wouldn't rather get the flu than what I got, surely some Lemsip Max does the trick on that over a few days, while nothing much eradicated my illnesses this year.
So my advice is not to get the jab unless you are feeling tip top - and that is hard when this is just the time of year when flu-type stuff is doing the rounds. And if you have it booked, rest the day before and after for 48 hrs, no alcohol, just warm water at home and early night.
