I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, watching the trees blow about in the rain outside. The cats have been fed & gone back to bed - boy cat took up most of my leg room last night 🙄.

I've put dd's school shirts on to wash already, tidied round the kitchen, and put a few pots to soak. Washing them is my next job.

We haven't got anything planned for today. The weather's uninspiring & dd has quite a bit of homework she wants to get done as she has exam prep to focus on this coming week, and a night out at a gig on Thursday. I'm also out all next weekend, so want to do a thorough clean/tidy this week, and make sure all the washing's caught up etc. to try and make my life easier through the week.

Other than that, I think it'll be a moochy, pottering kind of day. I'll get out my case and start thinking about what to take with me to London next weekend 🤔. I'm dreadful at packing & always take too much!

I haven't looked for inspiration for tea yet - possibly chicken wraps & salad, unless dd wants something else!

After that, showers and chill for the evening. I'm not getting far with my current book so might pick a differemt one - we'll see!

What about all of you? 🙂

Dropped DD to work early (8.30).

I picked up an engagement present for a young relative, then did my grocery shopping.

My sister rang, but she got cut off while we were in mid-conversation and I haven't been able to get hold of her since. Really annoying. She lives in a rural area and she's probably on some rural road where the reception is bad. Or else her battery died.

Chilling with my laptop for half an hour or so and then I'll do some laundry and blitz the kitchen.

I've to pick up DD from work at 6, head home and then we'll get ready to go to an engagement party. Would much rather get into my pjs and veg in front of the fire and TV. We won't stay late. It's a 40 minute drive away and the roads will be in a bad way after Storm Amy - there's a lot of surface water on the roads.

I need to drop payment into the plumber also - he fixed my tap a few weeks back but he called unexpectedly and I wasn't able to pay him on the day.

Storm Amy is here!

Had brunch with the youngest, Had a wander around the pound shop and then got something from M&S for tea tonight.
Now cleaning, doing laundry and pottering.

Its kind of a perfect day to be honest.

Storm Amy has been and gone.

DH just got back from work. DD is out in town with her pals and DS is in his cave!.

Not up to much as foot is very painful due to sudden plantar fasciitis, so feeling a bit bored.

Cosy night of strictly etc tonight.

I got back from my holiday early Wednesday morning, and honestly, am still recovering!
My legs are still very tired/heavy feeling, as we walked loads every day. Much more than I normally would. Still quite sleepy as well. But I'm also on antibiotics for cystitis that came out about halfway through the holiday. It was never very bad, but wasn't shifting, so drugs needed. I appreciate it's the infection slowing me down a bit as well. What with the infection, and a high-intensity "holiday", I'm trying to give myself the grace that it's okay to be feeling a bit wrung out.

I was also involved in a minor traffic accident 2 days before going away (rear-ended while stationary at lights), so am catching up with the fall-out from that. Organising a garage to repair the car, and getting a courtesy car sorted for that time. All just additional stress.

Went out early-ish this morning for my flu jab. Offered a blood pressure check while I was there, which came out borderline high, but the pharmacist said he wasn't concerned. I get terrible white-coat syndrome anyway, so it is what it is. I also woke up to a sad text from my best friend that her grandfather (who I've known for 30 years) was taken to hospital suddenly yesterday afternoon, and it's a bit touch and go. He's a lovely man, who has always been very kind to me, so I'm keeping him close in my heart today.

Plans for the rest of the day include unpacking the rest of my suitcase! Which has just been dumped on the lounge floor since Wednesday! I'm normally pretty good about unpacking straight away, but I just haven't felt up to it. But I'm going to tackle it this afternoon!

@MinnieMountain Tabasco is gorgeous.

I hope they are settling in well? Welcome to your life of servitude 😂

Didn't manage to get on earlier but it's been a boring home day for us (other than 3 lots of swimming lessons). Just getting the chores done and some DIY finished. House is currently a bombsite but we're in the process of getting it all in order.

Ordering Turkish for dinner (Mezze). Am excited for that!

I am in the city with DD, having a weekend away to celebrate my birthday and me finding a new job after being laid off.
We met up with her friend and went to prison island, then wandered around second hand shops, then met BIL and his wife and did an escape room.
We went out for dinner and now we're back at our hostel, DD has gone to lie down because she's exhausted and I'm sat in the common area drinking a beer and thinking of getting my book from our room. Shall probably go to sleep early tonight, very tired after a busy day.
