Huge cloud of them down our street today.

I saw a ladybird eat a greenfly once, which was about 1/4 of its size. It just slurped it down as though it was drinking it. I still love them but they don't seem quite so cute!

This is exactly why I love them, they eat the horrid aphids that eat my roses.

Awful things

Wildlife Trust “perfectly normal for this time of year” - bullshit. I’ve lived in this house for 18 years and this is only the second time anything like this has happened and is far, far worse than the previous time. Our white house walls (outside) are covered in them and our windows both south and north facing. I am nearly 60 and I’ve never seen anything like it. I expect a cold spell will put an end to it but in the meantime we are keeping windows closed.

A group of ladybirds is not a 'swarm', it's called a 'loveliness'. I only found that out yesterday.
