What did you put in your child's lunchbox today?

Mine had a ham cheese and cucumber pitta bread with some cherry tomatoes next to it, yogurt, fridge raiders, crisps and apple.

Thought doing a random day like today would get a wider range of ideas than just asking suggestions.

OP posts:
Artifishal · 25/09/2025 12:50

Houmous and ritz crackers
Quavers
Yoghurt pouch
Pear
Little flapjack bar thing

7 years old, school provide fruit at break. Autistic so pretty limited diet!

PragmaticIsh · 25/09/2025 12:50

Hot food flask with a mix of tikka chicken, pilau rice, cooked green beans and raw pepper (DD is particular!).
Seaweed crisps and a kiwi.

Kirbert2 · 25/09/2025 12:53

What he has pretty much every day.

ham sandwich on white bread
fridge raiders
banana
yogurt
crisps
chocolate mini roll

FairyBatman · 25/09/2025 12:57

Leftover chicken udon soup with wontons in a food flask and some
gapes.

Much more typically a cheese wrap, cucumber slices, grapes and a yogurt.

Dorrieisalittlewitch · 25/09/2025 13:13

Dc1 (10) Leftover chicken souvaki in a pitta with salad
Chopped apple, raisins, plain yogurt with a drizzle of honey in a tub

Dc2 (7) pitta with tomatoes, basil and mayo (which is also what I've just eaten)
A hardboiled egg pressed into the shape of a bunny
Small pot of strawberries and a slice of apple yogurt cake she helped me make

They both took a banana for their morning snack

Neither are particularly keen on traditional sandwich fillings and I'm trying to avoid processed meat snacks although dc1 has the odd pepperoni stick.

Luckily their school offers enough variety most of the time that they're happy to eat school lunches for 12 out of every 15 school days.

Cherryblossom6754 · 25/09/2025 13:36

Ham wrap
Carrot sticks
Melon
Yoyo
Yoghurt
Biscuit

Any fruit or veg I put in always gets left but I include some anyway!

Cyclingforcake · 25/09/2025 13:40

No lunchbox police here either. No nuts and no big bars of chocolate seem to be the only rules. And annoyingly no hot flasks - too many children spilling v hot food and not being able to open them.

HungreeHipp0 · 25/09/2025 13:47

DD 9 - cheese and ham sandwich, grapes, kitkat and slices of cucumber chopped into heart shapes 😆 She does her packed lunch herself, very adamant and particular about it.

Ohmeohmyohme · 25/09/2025 13:47

Cream cheese sandwich, mini cucumbers, cheddars, mini flapjack, grapes & strawberries & a tangerine.

Fasterthan40 · 25/09/2025 13:48

16yo: bento box containing: rocket/pappardelle/ragu, greek yogurt/honey/figs, homegrown(!) Apple/ homemade flapjack, malt loaf. She also has an hot flask of ginger cordial for a sore throat, an Ella’s cacao bar and a trek protein flapjack. We had hardly any pappardelle leftover so needed to bump carbs as she is training hard and also PMT
12yo: cold bag type lunch bag containing cheese scone with butter/cheese, wrap/ pâté/lettuce, homemade flapjack, yogurt, Pom bears, juice, time out bar, tomatoes, mini peppers. He is growing and permanently ravenous. I was offering only healthy food but then he was buying top ups at the school tuck shop

ARichtGoodDram · 25/09/2025 13:53

DN for nursery - peanut butter roll. 4 cocktail sausages. A wee tub of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. A yogurt. Packet of mini gingerbread men.

12yo - pizza wrap, chicken chunks, breadsticks, carrot sticks & hummus. She also has fruit as they ask for some in all lunch boxes but she won't eat it.

MinnieMountain · 25/09/2025 13:54

Ham sandwich

Crackers

Chocolate biscuit X 4

Homemade apple sauce

Homemade choc zucchini cake

Yogurt

Crunchymum · 25/09/2025 14:05

Wholemeal pitta with hummus, roast beef and tomatoes.

Pot of diced cucumber (only way it gets eaten)

Pot of blueberries

Pot of strawberries

Pot of Greek yogurt

One plain oatcake.

This also includes a snack for breaktime (one of the berry pots and the oatcake)

Pots are all small sistema pots so not massive portions.

They have a variation of this everyday. Different berries, different protein / carb but essentially the same.
